So, I have been thinking about this as a house rule. I have used it in all of the Modern AGE games I have run, but all the same, I'd like to see what y'all think.
If your character takes a profession of a different social class than their background, adjust their starting resources by one, up or down, per step between them. This means that while someone with an Urban background can work up to being an Executive, they do so at a slightly less privileged rate. Likewise, an Aristocrat turned Artist will likely not be of the Starving variety.
Make sense? Thoughts?
Urban background is 2 classes under Executive profession. Starting Resources 6 (8 - 2)
Aristocrat background is 3 classes over Artist profession. Starting Resources 5 (2 + 3)
