Re: Wonders of Thedas Episode 69: Lead Them or Fall

I do find it very odd that the Champion specialisation in DA: Inquisition is utterly unlike that in DA: Origins - it is far more like a cross between the Guardian and Defender specialisations of Awakening and DA 2. There is no war cry and no other way to inspire any other team member - it basically just makes one immovable and able to shrug off damage, described thus:

"Champions are defenders and protectors, and when a warrior trains in the championís tradition, they become unstoppable. Champions use their armor, weapon and awareness to shrug off incoming attacks while holding critical positions on the battlefield and protecting allies in the process."

In DA: Origins, the description is:

"The champion is a veteran warrior and a confident leader in battle. Possessing skill at arms impressive enough to inspire allies, the champion can also intimidate and demoralize foes. These are the heroes you find commanding an army, or plunging headlong into danger, somehow making it look easy."

Ah well - as Lord Chancer de Lion would say, "It's good to be Champion."

One question for you: I dislike the Charge action and the way it can misused in the Champion specialisation - as written, one can repeatedly 'charge' the same foe each turn, bouncing away and back like a yo-yo. Do you use any house rules to change this, or can you think of any? Is there anything we can learn from Fantasy Age (I don't have the rules to hand)?

    Keep up the good work!
