Using WFRP3 dice pools in ASoIaF
this is my first post here, but I have been lurking this forum for a while.
I'm mastering a campaign with my regular gaming group using most of the standard ruleset but replacing the standard dice system by the dice pool mechanic from WFRP v3. A similar dice mechanic is being used for the Start Wars RPG system as well. Instead of having a success or a failure at a test, or even a number of degrees of success or failure, this mechanic also has dramatic wins or catastrophic failures, side effects, the possibility to do things in a hurry or taking your time etc.
Using this system really improves the story telling and adds another level of excitement to the game.
If anybody would be interested I have created 6 game sheets containing basically all the rule mechanics to run a game. I am now adding two more sheets for the house actions and warfare part.
