Master Symon is a very small and bad tempered old man with 73 years of age, the master of all the servants in the castle and personal advisor to the lord. He is a commoner and he does not know how to read, but nonetheless he is very intelligent and very loyal, offering honest and sharp counsel and being the one who helped Lady Corenna during every single one of her births and he was the right hand during the late Lord Arold's rule, but he also has a sharp tongue and it's too honest for the court. He is called Sour Symon by everyone in the castle.

Mortymer is the House's steward, responsible for helping the Lord in matters of finances and land administration. He is a round man of 52 years, plump and very courteous. Always wearing fine clothes, Mortymer is constantly busy, arguing over matters of stewardship with the old Sour Symon. His three sons, Morson, Marlon and Almeric also work for House Gargon, the first in the stables, the second in the kennels and the last one is part of the House's garrison.

Fat Molly is the head of the kitchen's staff. A woman big of body and big of heart, she is very kind to everyone and she loves to sing, something she does every morning while cooking for the family. She is also the mother of the young Meryn Waters, the squire of the late lord Arold.

Master Errol the Horrid is the master of the port, responsible for it's daily administration and the control of fishing ships. He is an old and scarred man, tall and ugly, his skin is burnt from the sun overseas, and he enjoys scaring little children. As a kid Alber always said to his brothers that Errol was a pirate in the Stepstones when he was young, but Lord Arold always considered this nonsense.

Master Tom, called Big Tom by the folk, he is a tall man, broad and strong, who is the head of all the men in the saltworks. Despite all his size, Tom is a quiet and reserved man, not much of a talker, enjoying his free time drinking alone in the local tavern and playing dice in the gambling den.

Captain Willem, nicknamed Captain Whiskers by the children, has been the head of the household guard for almost 30 years now. A good hearted knight of 55, he is dutiful, honorable and loves the children. His two sons Herb and Hobb work with him in the household, and his daughter Lily works in the kitchen. He cultivated a honorable grey mustache that covers his mouth completely. Other men in the garrison include: Garth, Larry, Samm, Gull, Padrik, Lamprey, Haral, Jared, Mors, One-Eye, Otto the Ugly, Malric the Maid, Buckets, Gerold, Podrick, Benard, Shrimp, Phil, Donal the Dancer, Mel, Wald and Rogger.

Ser Godfrey of Oxcross [deceased] was the House's Master-at-Arms. An smallframed knight, but very skilled in his trade, he was a very serious and chivalrous old man. He personally trained half the Gargon brothers in arms, including the late Lord Arold, and even at his mid 60s he was a dangerous man to folly. He died while fighting alongside his lord in the Battle in the Whispering Wood.

Maester Jormon [deceased] was the House's maester, a small and nervous man who met his end before his thirties. Jormon was always depressed, and no one was really sure why. He enjoyed drinking milk of the poppy to calm his nerves, and when he did, he was nice and gentle. But one day he drank too much, and unconsciously dropped a candle that became a fire, killing him and burning one of the towers of the castle, destroying his laboratory and killing all his ravens.

Re: (OOC) - Characters & Setting from "The Price of Power"

    LORD AROLD GARGON [deceased]
Called "the Gentle Gargon", Lord Arold was considered a man with a golden heart. He was indeed a gentle soul, kind to lowborn and highborn alike, and loved by his people. His father, Lord Gerald, and his older brothers Arron and Harys, have all died during the war, fighting for King Aerys Targaryen against Robert and his rebels, with only Arold and his younger brother Artos surviving the Usurper. Unlike his brothers and his deceased father, Arold had little interest in the martial arts and the ways of the warrior, preferring the company of books, merchants and singers, something he probably inherited from his mother's family, House Piper of Pinkmaiden, where he was fostered and where he squired Ser Clebber Piper when young.

Despite his gentleness and his caring personality, his rule was not without problems. While respected by the smallfolk, outlaws were not unheard of in his lands, and many credited this for his lack of firmness, for Arold disliked amputations and hangings as punishments. Lord Arold was also disliked by many other lords who saw his peaceful disposition as cowardice. It was rumored that he was more fond of counting coins, reading and praying than fucking, and his children weren't his at all. It's true that Lord Arold was a frugal man, personally checking his House's finances every single day, saving gold wherever he could, and that he liked his reserved moments alone in his library. But he also was a loving father who personally taught his children how to read, and a loyal husband to loved his wife until the end of his days.

Arold met his end in Riverrun, as a prisoner of Robb Stark. He was captured during Battle in the Whispering Wood, brought to the Tully dungeons, and finally killed in the night by one of the Karstark men, having his throat sliced while disarmed and in chains. His corpse is still in Riverrun.

    BENEFITS:
Head of House, Head for Numbers, Courteous, Favored of Smallfolk, Blood of Valyria.
    DRAWBACKS:
Transparent (Flaw: Deception), Inept (Flaw: Fighting), Honor-bound, Naive.

    LADY CORENNA GARGON née Buckler
Corenna Gargon was born 43 years ago, in the House Buckler. She was the first daughter of Lord Willam Buckler (who passed away 20 years ago after being injured during a hunt). When she was a teenager, she was very independant and a bit of a rebel. She was taught how to be a court lady but loved to escape from Bronzegate to go hunting in Kingswood. She married relatively late to Lord Gargon after a tourney in Storm's End where she seduced him with her energic beauty. She is now devoted to her new House. In spite of her anger to see the house ruined by her firstborn son, she would never consider to hurt him and will protect him and the house at all costs. She loves her children and can be ruthless if someone or something threaten them.

    BENEFITS:
    Respected, Treacherous, Courteous, Cautious Diplomat.
    DRAWBACKS:
Nemesis (Lord Wendwater), Haunted (by Arold's death).

Re: (OOC) - Characters & Setting from "The Price of Power"

    LORD ALBER GARGON
Alber is a capable young man in his prime, with brown hair and purple valyrian eyes. He was never beautiful, but takes great care of his looks and his manners, being well spoken at the court for his etiquette and politeness. Alber was never a loving son and a loving brother, even as a child he was a little odd, always uncomfortable around others, being coldly courteous towards his own family. His relationship with his lord father started to turn sour as the years passed and he started seeing his father in a bad light, for he was aggressive and headstrong, while his father was passive and moderate. Alber was constantly angry believing his father and family were mocked by other houses, and it was not unheard of him openly disrespecting his Lord. As Alber became older their differences became clearer, with conflict growing inside the family until the time his father, for the first and only time in his whole life, and to the shock of all present, lost his temper and struck him hard in the face over an neverending argument. Seeing no other option, Lord Arold sent him to Bronzegate to be fostered by his uncle Lord Ralph Buckler, hoping time would be a good counsel for both him and his son.

The Bucklers were closer to King Robert not only for fighting for him during his rebellion, but for being a loyal, old vassal House of House Baratheon since the Conquest, and Lord Ralph was friends with his King's family, so they were constantly at court in King's Landing. Alber learned how well he could fare in court, winning a good reputation with both Lannisters and Baratheons and developing a taste for this kind of life. While Lord Ralph preferred the King's company, going in nightly rides and hunting in the Kingswood, Alber was more fond of dancing and drinking with the ladies in the Redkeep. This preference would prove itself to be useful later, for after Robert Baratheon's death, Queen Cersei maintained at court only her friends, leaving Robert's drinking partners out of her inner circle. When the War of the 5 Kings began, Lord Arold sent for his son asking him to accompany him and his troops into battle, but he dismissed his father and chose to stay with his uncle in King's Landing, defending it from Stannis Baratheon during the Blackwater. There he earned his knighthood, being knighted by King Jeoffrey himself. When news of his father's death reached King's Landing, his uncle pressed him to enforce his claim on his lands, for Cersei would surely favor a Lord over a knight as her courtesan.

Now as the new Lord Gargon, Alber believes it's finally his duty to lift his House prestige and secure a place at the Queen's side, proving to everyone, including his deceased father, what he is capable of achieving.

    BENEFITS:
Head of House, Favored of Nobles, Anointed, Blood of Valyria, Stubborn and Sponsor (Queen Cersei).
    DRAWBACKS:
Haughty, Uncultured (Flaw: Knowledge), Debt, Brash (Flaw: Will).

    ARTOS GARGON
Artos is the younger brother of the late Lord Arold and uncle of the current liege of House Gargon, Lord Alber. He is a huge and strong man in his late 40s, very skilled with sword and spear, and a veteran of two wars, but he is also violent and drunk, earning a terrible reputation. He is, by far, the tallest member of House Gargon, and it is said his true father was not Lord Gargon, but a giant hidden in the forest nearby, who Lady Gargon would visit sometimes. The fact that Artos was the only son without the characteristic purple eyes of the family helped this rumor to spread. As a baby he was so big he ripped his mother apart from the inside during the birth, killing her.

His personal sigil is a golden starfish in the colors of his House, but he is called "Rottenfish" for his temper and his constant whoring. His brothers always considered him an unpredictable and violent fool, and with the exception of Arold, openly blamed him for killing their mother in his birth. The late Lord Arold always took pity on his brother, seeing in Artos an afflicted and lonely soul who despised himself above all else, and for this caring Artos loved his brother fiercely, defending him from everything. It was this affection for his brother who made him finally take the road, many years ago, for if he could not stop gambling, whoring, drinking and fighting, then at least he could do it far from his House. He travelled the Seven Kingdoms as a sellsword, and sired many bastards through the Crownlands, the Riverlands and the Stormlands, Meryn Waters being one of them, the son of a tavern wench he raped one night while visiting his own home. From time to time the Rottenfish visits the Gargon lands to see his brother, and eventually, his son. There are no news of him since the beginning of the war.

    BENEFITS:
Massive, Long Blade Fighter I, Tough, Brawler I, Berserk.
    DRAWBACKS:
Bound to the Bottle, Marked (huge scar in his face), Wretched (Flaw: Status), Dullard (Flaw: Cunning), Clumsy (Flaw: Agility).

    MERYN WATERS
Meryn, called "Littlefish", is a young squire at the service of House Gargon. He is an obedient, loyal and smart young man. He is also the son of Molly, the kitchen matron from the castle and head of the cookers. Molly was raped by Artos Gargon more than fifteen years ago, when she was only an wench from a local tavern. After his birth, Molly presented him to Lord Arold, who took for himself the responsibility of raising the offspring of his brother, giving his mother a room to live and work in his kitchens. Rottenfish care little for his bastard, and even less for the woman he raped, and the few times he even saw the boy were by command of the late Lord Arold.

Meryn hates his father and everything about him, saying many times to his closest friends that one day he will kill him with his own hands. The only fatherly figure Meryn had all his life was Lord Arold, for whom he squired for years. He dreams of becoming a famous knight to bring honor to the Gargons and pay back everything the late lord did for him. His nickname is a reference of his parentage, a name he despises almost as much as his father, but could not escape from.

    BENEFITS:
Dutiful, Furtive, Face in the Crowd, Sponsor (House Gargon).
    DRAWBACKS:
    Bastard Born, Fear (the Rottenfish)

    Background
Eddard Gothos hails from the Reach. As the third son of a minor house, he was expected to find his own way that might help his house. With a fine mind, he was sent to learn to be a Maester and showed great promise. His eloquence quickly suggested that he would be assigned to a major house. However, the lure of women, drink and gambling was his undoing. He managed to forge his first link, but one drunken rant at the Maesters too many and his life as a maester was over.

After being dismissed, the urge to wallow in his mistake was strong, but instead, he showing uncharacteristic resolve and travelled East to Kings Landing, picking up gossip and information along the way, whilst spreading songs and stories, creating quite a following for himself as the Grey Bard. Arriving in the capital, he discovered that another House was intent on destroying the port at Seasedge in order to force all the ships to have to use Kings Landing and therefore unable to keep their cargos a secret. Eddard provided Lord Arold Gargon information concerning it and helped prevent it happening. Proving his eloquence in court, he was made House Fool and Herald seven years ago.

He regularly performs at Kings Landing, entertaining the court. He saved King Robert’s life from choking at a feast five years ago, adding to his fame, and was given lots of money, which he lost as he always did, gambling and drinking.
Sometimes, he helps out Allyn Storm at Lord Arold's request and borrows Ser Meldred when he needs some muscle. Before the war, he was occasionally sent to keep Artos Gargon out of trouble. They despised each other, but Lord Arold still protected his family where he could. Meryn Waters sometimes is assigned to help him out when somebody who won’t be recognised is needed.

Eddard plays the fool, the sight of him without any clothes left is not an uncommon sight in Seasedge, but he is very smart and knows a lot of things. Despite his alleged lack of ability at fighting, he did fight at Blackwater Bay and Kings Landing in disguise.

Re: (OOC) - Characters & Setting from "The Price of Power"

    Allyn Storm

Background: Allyn is a bastard of Rottefish. The ville Gargon brought him over from Bronzegate some two and twenty years ago. Where his father was always headstrong and of of fiery temper, Allyn was like a shadow, quiet and unassuming. He befriended nearly everyone at the castle as a boy and tried his best to be more like a young noble should, and earn his knightly spurs in the process, but failed in that account. He wanted to joust with his brother. However, too eager to show his mettle, he rode too high in his saddle and Alber smacked him of the horse, which fell on his leg - making him a cripple for life. He was of small stature, skinny and with slightly hunched back, not one to leave a lasting impression when laying eyes upon him.

From then on, he spent less and less time in court and more time roaming the countryside and frequenting Inns and brothels. He became a known face among all who spent time in similar establishments. Allyn did not drink or whore that much, but he did enjoy gambling and deceiving other men into all kinds of mischief. After the wars started, he pledged to protect that same smallfolk.

Still as his brother continued to spend significant amount of time away from home, first at Bronzegate and now at King's Landing, and with the death of their lord Father, Allyn was left to fend for himself.. While the realm trembled with war, he roamed the Crownlands, taking up puny jobs and helping the smallfolk as they could.

Allyn often visit the seat of Gargon, but prefer to travel. Main goal of his is to help the villagers, servants and other Gargon lands inhabitants of lower birth. By spending so much time among them, Allyn took s lot of smallfolk mannerism to himself, a trait many would think inadequate to the son brother of Lord Gargon, no matter his bastard born status. Adventures of Allyn r were always for the good of the common folk, but did include lying, deceivery and theft. Hard time demands getting your hands dirtied, and the pair did not shy of doing just that. He soon opened up an illegal gambling den in the village near the seat of Gargon, where men can fight, drink, and gamble on anything they desire. It was then when another one of Rottenfish's bastard came to him, a knight that goes by the name of Black Meldred. He, as did all three of them, despised his father but found no shelter in the castle of Gargon. Allyn took his kin to a liking, and accepted him. He now serves as a muscle in Allyn's gambling den, straigtening out ruffians and troublemakers and protecting the crippled Allyn from those with malicious intentions.

Description and background: Black Meldred is yet another bastard by the Rottefish. He was concieved in the Reach and is the eldest of his bastards. He inherited a knack for martial prowess from his father, but he is not nearly as ville and attrocious as him. For quite some time he roamed the realm and served as the hedge knight, but soon decided to come back home to only family he ever known. He is loyal but a bit dim if one can say so, and is known to be very protective of those who earn his trust. When he tried to come and offer his sword to the service of Lord Gargon, he was rejected. Not knowing where to go he heard tales of one Allyn, another one of his brothers, who lived in a village close to the castle and owned a gambling den there. Once he shown up, he was quickly accepted, the younger sibling provided him with a room and clothes, armor and s horse too and for that he ows him a great deal of gratitude.

    LORD RALPH BUCKLER
The current lord of Bronzegate and the brother of Lady Gargon, Ralph Buckler is a tall and shrewd man, known for his ambition and his cunning. He was a personal friend of the late King Robert Baratheon, and both appreciated each others company during feasts and hunts. Originally a vassal from Storm's End, Lord Ralph changed allegiances after Robert's death, declaring his loyalty to King Jeoffrey's and defending his legitimacy. Lord Buckler always considered Renly a gallant fool, and even with the power of the Reach behind him, Ralph believed he would not reign for much time. He fought for the Lannisters during the Battle of the Blackwater Bay alongside his nephew, Lord Alber Gargon, but he did not take part in the heart of the battle. Despite his defenses of King Jeoffrey legitimacy, it is said that Ralph has no real love for the Lannisters, only following the side that is more likely to win. Differently from his nephew Alber, whose passion to the Lannister's rule was rewarded with the Queen's favor.

Being quite intelligent and competent in his duties, Ralph is nonetheless considered a good lord, just to his people and honest with his allies. But it is also known that he is not a forgiving man, someone who does not take offenses lightly, and he is famous for his harsh punishments to outlaws in his lands. Lady Gargon always considered his brother a cruel boy when a child, for he really enjoyed the company of animals, but at the same time he had pleasure in hurting them needlessly.

Lord Ralph is married with Lady Talessa, from House Toyne of the Stormlands, and together they have a daughter of seven years old named Talia. Their marriage is a quiet one and Lady Gargon always considered his sister-in-law to be a sweet but sad woman. Nonetheless, Lord Ralph is extremely protective of his daughter and envious of his wife, preferring her locked in her chambers than walking freely in the courtyard.

    BENEFITS:
Head of House, Cautious Diplomat, Authority, Respected.
    DRAWBACKS:
    Haughty, Cruel (Flaw: Animal Handling).

    SER BRYAN BUCKLER
Ser Bryan is a noble knight from House Buckler, and the castellan of Bronzegate, being the fourth born son of the late Lord Ronal Buckler, and the youngest brother of Lady Gargon and Lord Ralph Buckler. He is famous for being both an extremely good fighter and an extremely superstitious man. Nicknamed "Blessed Bryan" or "Blessed Buckler" for his beliefs, he became a godly man after surviving the Greyjoy Rebellion completely untouched, to the point of missing death seven times, from embarking his ship to storming the gates of Pyke.

Since then, the young man swore to be a righteous man, to free himself of the earthly sins, like gambling, whoring and even drinking, and to fiercely follow the Seven. He wished to became a Septon, but his father and older brother forbade him, successfully persuading him using the argument that surely the gods made him good with the sword for a purpose, and to follow a life in the clergy would be to stray away from that path. Indeed the young knight has a love for the martial arts, being very talented with sword, lance, morningstar and bow, to the point of being undefeated in single combat until this day, something that earned him the fame of invincible while protected by the Gods.

Bryan is a charming knight, a caring friend, and a good uncle. Still unmarried at his age, and to his brother's wrath, he is nowhere close to be interested in those matters, for he has eyes only for the gods.

    BENEFITS:
Anointed, Danger Sense, Famous, Lucky, Pious, Long Blade Fighter I.
    DRAWBACKS:
Honor-bound, Haunted, Fear (sins, magic and superstitions).

    LADY CORENNA GARGON

Corenna Gargon was born 48 years ago, in the House Buckler.
