Bear Trap Stats

Post by GameOfPwns » Mon Apr 28, 2014 1:13 pm

What would all of you say are the stats on a bear trap that is set on a PC's leg? I'm cautious to not make it too powerful, but not really able to translate fem D&D over to ASIFR.

- Im sure it will have "Entangling" if it's not mounted to a post, wall, etc. & "Grab" if it is mounted to a post, wall, etc.
- Im sure the target will have to spend a Greater Action & succeed on a Challenging (9) Athletics test (bonus dice from Strength apply) under pressure.
- Im sure it will damage/wound the character, how much is the question I cannot answer just yet.

Thanks for the help!

This is an interesting topic!

In my opinion, all else aside, it should have Pierce 2, as a Bear has a natural armor of 2.

I agree on Grab and Entangling as well as the means to escape.
I would say it does maybe...

3D+1B(for surprise) and 2damage with Pierce 2? A normal chump walking through the woods who stepped on one would probably need to take a wound or at least an injury, which I feel would make sense.
