New Inquisition trailer and website

Post by Scott McFarland » Tue Apr 22, 2014 9:50 am

OK, so if you haven't been to http://www.dragonage.com today you really need to.

The new stuff is awesome - Knight Enchanter mage specialisation, Artificer rogue specialisation... and that's just for starters.

If this is the reason why Set 3 has been stalled so long, so that these new specialisations and doubtless new spells, monsters etc can go in the rule set then suddenly the wait makes lots and lots of sense.

Excited. Very excited.

Yeah, looks great!

I'm not sure how well artificer will translate to PnP... There's already traps/poison. We'll see!

Thanks for the link Scott :)

The game looks fantastic - and October 7 is earlier then I expected - I thought they were aiming with the release for the end of November / Holidays 2014.

I played the two previous games on PC. However, my computer is a bit old and rusty now and since I'm not planning to update it any time soon - I'm going to play Dragon Age Inquisition on PS4. I hope the console version won't suck!

I played the previous games on X360 and they didn't suck, though you will miss the ability to mod stuff if you like that kind of things.
I think I'll get it on PS4, too. If the website had a pre-order option for the console versions, I would have already ordered the game.

I'm guessing one of the other Mage specialisations will be some kind of shadow mage / illusionist. And Blood Mage?

I know they're keen to make healing harder to do so Spirit Healer is probably off the table,

Templar will join Champion as Warrior specs judging by the Templar icon.

Assassin has surely got to be another rogue spec?

Mage - looks like blood mage and some kind of shadow magic

Warrior - Templar and reaver maybe?

Rogue - not sure about assassin, either of the two remaining icons could be bard maybe?

I think there was on the wiki ealier.

Mages have Rift Master, Knight Enchanter and Necromancer.
Rogues have Artifice, Assassin and Tempest.
Warriors have Templars, Reavers and Champions.

Interesting. Three new specialisations for the Mage, two new for the rogue but nothing new for Warriors.

Wonder where the wiki got these unannounced ones from though. They're not on the da site.

And previous saves! At least in ME 2-3 and DA2 it was always fun to see how various bits and pieces carried over into subsequent games.
Granted, DA2 did not have much as it played in a different region, but there were some effects to what you did in Origins.

You can always upgrade your PC - if it's old and rusty it may be about time, anyways ... assuming you haven't turned your back to PC gaming entirely and don't care about future titles. :)
current campaign character: Niamh MacCarrain, Templar Apprentice, L4 human warrior

I think as an alternative to loading previous saves, they're putting together a website where you can fill out all of the decisions that were made in the first two games, so that they can carry over into DAI. This solves the problem of people changing platforms or just wanting to explore DAI as if it were affected by different choices than what they actually did in DAO and DA2.

I remember they put out a call for beta testers for that website a while ago. Haven't heard anything since then so I don't know if they canceled that idea or if they're just waiting until closer to the game launch to start directing people to the website.

EDIT: Found it! Dragon Age Keep: https://dragonagekeep.com/

My Dragon Age save was corrupted by Awakening. In DA 2 among other things Leliana had no idea she was in relationship with my Warden... So I won't miss that part of the experience.

Nowadays I use my computer mainly for work - the only games I play on PC are the ones that are not available on consoles like Shadowrun Returns.

I've heard about it. I hope it will allow to create file for PS4 version of the game.

If every GM here doesn't have a Bog Unicorn in their next session, we're all failing as GMs.

Done. Provided I know what a bog unicorn is...

And gryphons! Supposedly a semi-confirmed DLC, more so with the new novel.
