  • Weird behavior when I edit a post

When I edit a post more than once within maybe a few hours, sometimes it brings up an older version of the post as the text to edit. Shift+refresh has helped with some issues, but not all. So, for instance, if a post said, "Apples", and I edited it to say "Apples and oranges," and later realized I also needed to add "and grapes," when I hit the Edit post button I sometimes see it bring up "Apples."

This is a general function of the system over-caching results (which has been hinted in past to be the result of some of the anti-spam measures). In extreme cases, you may make a post and not see it, but get a notice via the subscription and see the replies to your post. Forcing a refresh (Ctrl-F5 is the usual method on Windows/Linux PCs) sometimes fixes that problem.

Side note to this, I do not recommend editing posts via the mobile interface. The button to save the post for some reason captures the tap and puts it onto the delete button, which does not confirm that you really want to delete the post you just finished editing.

I can sort of see that, but when I wait twenty minutes and I still can't edit the post, that doesn't seem like desired behavior. And it is "real," I ended up creating a frankenpost in notepad and pasting it in, and the updated post did appear.

Would you be willing to try editing a post now and let me know if it seems to be better?

Editing seems to be working like it should now.
