  • new stunts idea

    so i have been running with Initiative Stunts for a while and my team really likes them. they say it gives a new experience in the game. so if doubles are rolled on any Initiative roll, then you generate Stunt Points. here is a chart for the INTV STUNTS i have so far.

    INITIATIVE
    1-Super Feet-You can take a Minor Action before the Encounter begins
    2-On Your Toes-You can take a Major Action before the Encounter begins
    4-Seize Initiative-You take first turn despite initiative order for the first round, then you get dropped to your normal place afterwards
    6-No Hesitation-You can take a full turn before the Encounter begins, then another turn on your normal initiative time

    Only one INTV stunt may be chosen. no one can choose the same INTV Stunt as any other player. this means that 2 people cannot pick Seize Initiative for example. however, the exception is the first 2 stunts; Super Feet and On Your Toes. If 2 players get the same stunt here, it is acceptable.

    Any ideas, maybe for new Stunts? or just any old comment will work. thanks ahead of time

    This comes up all the time in my games, thank you for beginning to address it. I would make "Super Feet" cost 2 SP, because most 1 SP stunts have a very small, often numeric effect. I would switch around "Seize Initiative" and "On Your Toes" and make "Seize Initiative" worth 3 SP, because having an extra Major Action is much more useful than going first. These are just suggestions. Here are few more ideas:

    1+SP Sudden Turn of Events: You can add 1 to your initiative per SP you spend.
    1 SP Surprise Blow: You get a +1 bonus on your attack roll against an enemy that has not yet acted during the round.
    2 SP Stay Hidden: You have a chance to go unnoticed and immediately make a Dexterity (Stealth) test if you have concealment or cover from the enemy.

    Star Wars: AGE of the Empire: An ever-expanding adaption of the Star Wars universe utilizing the AGE ruleset and compatible with the Fantasy Age Basic Rulebook.

    Expanded Classes Playtest: Adding the Bard, Swashbuckler, and Templar classes. As well as introducing archetypes that gives players different options from the start of play.

          Here is the final list I will be trying out with my group.

          1+SP Sudden Turn of Events: You can add 1 to your initiative per SP you spend.

          3SP Fast-Talker: You can briefly convince enemies that you are not a threat. During the first round of the Encounter, any enemy that targets you with an attack or spell must make an opposed test of their Willpower (Self-Discipline) versus your Communication (Persuasion). Spells or effects that target multiple targets ignore the effects of this stunt as long as another target is also effected.
          3SP Quick Reaction: You can take a Minor Action before the Encounter begins. Previously "Quick Footed," and changed to reflect that their is a more powerful version of the stunt, such as between Mighty and Lethal Blow.

            Sounds perfect. i too will update mine. if i come up with any more ideas i will post them. If anyone has anymore, please don't be afraid to post. i all for new ideas. have fun using them as much as we have creating them. (to think it only started with 4 and in 3 days it has turned into THIS! awesome)

              Without this additional stunt list, would not be possible to use the SP on the initive roll?


              2SP Stay Hidden: You have a chance to go unnoticed and immediately make a Dexterity (Stealth) test if you have concealment or cover from the enemy.
              Without this stunt would you consider hiding a minor action? I would anyhow allowed my PC to make a stealth test at the begining of the combat even outside their turn. Maybe it could says "You see the enemies before they see you, +X bonus on Dexterity (Stealth) test". This way it could even become the 1SP stunt with +1 bonus and extra +1 for each additional 2SP spent.

                It is more like a Free Action, as it is limited to if you already have cover or concealment. The way I see this working is if you were about to round a corner or next to a crate then you could easily duck out of sight before you were noticed.

                  I like Stay Hidden the way it is. If you can use Stealth as a free action, your character can activate the stunt. If not, you have other options.
