  • Kaulu's "Sila-Verse" Collection (now: Velarra)

    I've decided I want a separate thread here for my Sila-Verse setting, apart from all the other builds I've done on this site. At first, that means I'll be posting a lot of duplicate material, but gradually I'll delete this material from my other thread as I transfer it, along with some new stuff, to this thread.

    The Sila-Verse is a near-future, Earth-based, using M&M 3e rules. Superheroes and supervillains have a variety of origins: budding super-science, inborn powers, aliens, magic, and more. A typical "kitchen sink" setting in that way, I suppose.

                BIO

                      Sometimes when the Vord have access to a deceased human body, they infest it with Diminutive insectoid organisms and thus reanimate it for use as a spy, with a little bit of psychic powers. Although the true form of these creatures is gross and obviously based on a dead body, they can project a psychic aura that makes the weak-willed perceive them as looking like ordinary humans. While these "Ghouls" are expendable and not likely to be very effective against mighty superheroes, their very existence is enough to sow paranoia and distrust throughout communities threatened by the Vord, who never know if their next-door neighbor has been eliminated and replaced by a Ghoul.

                      NOTES

                      Resistible is just plain broken. Here, making Morph Resistible makes it worse, yet makes it a good deal more expensive than just plain Morph. Since it's an NPC and power point expenditure doesn't matter, I left it that way, but for a PC with a decent Resistible Morph effect I would have to make some kind of house rule, like the one JDRook proposed when I asked about the subject.

                        BIO

                        Looking something like an elephantine-sized lobster, or maybe a cross between a lobster and an ankylosaurid dinosaur, the Harrux is a huge armored crawler that is used by the Vord for troop transport and siege operations. It can bash down buildings and other easy-to-hit targets with its tail, but against smaller targets its favorite tactic is to use its chameleon-like tongue to pull a victim into its grasp to be crushed.
