  • School for Character Re-Creation

I was wondering if there was a thread to show new GMs how to recreate characters from the comics. I know there are writeups, I would really like for someone to do an in depth example of how they modeled a particular hero or villain from comics or other rpg. I realize that some writeups have notes on why they were done that way, but I still have questions. For instance, how do you determine what level the fighting stat should be vs the skill level in hand to hand?

Thing is, it's really a matter of preference and your vision of a given character.

Batman is an amazing fighter, but can he hit as hard as Spiderman? In a comic he'll be fighting the street level threats and Spidey will be handling the super-tier (for the most part).
In a game where two players (or an NPC fighting the PCs) are standing by each other, there needs to be some equalizing factor otherwise the fun goes out the window...

Jabroniville, who has a truly impressive array of builds, described his process on the other boards.
