    Basically, Kevin/Maximum Man had spent half his life trying to re-discover his word, so once he was able to transform back into a 6'4" handsome young superhero with the body of a Greek god, he decided to make up for lost time, go out on dates, and otherwise enjoy himself. And for a guy getting a second chance at youth, that meant going out on a lot of dates and sleeping around. Now, he wasn't a Captain Dynamo style creep who cheated on anyone or used his powers to seduce women, but he didn't shy away from the fact that he now had a physically perfect, handsome super body either.

      Enemy: Talona has a long-standing history of clashes with Grant Conglomerates. She has also had numerous run-ins with Lady Liberty and the Freedom League, though their relationship is somewhat like a pendulum in that it swings back and forth between being enemies and being grudging allies.

      Motivation ~Responsibility: Talona is the chosen leader of her people, part of her birthright from the sky-gods (or so she believes).

      Temper: Talona is subject to stress atavism, which causes her to fly into bestial rages when pressed.


      Background: Now the undisputed ruler of the Avian people, Talona has matured with age while weathering the burden of responsibility having largely gotten her well-known temper under control. She has developed and maintained a good relationship with the Freedom League, thanks in large part to the fact that Raptor Red (a younger Avian and Talona's cousin) becoming a member of the Freedom City branch.

        Addiction: Black Vulture and his followers have learned to enjoy the taste of dead flesh, particularly human flesh and he has difficulty resisting its allure.

        Motivation ~Recognition: Black Vulture wants to be officially recognized by the world as the ruler of his own kingdom of Avians.

        Power Loss: Black Vulture loses his Strength Of The Dead array and his Talons loses the Penetrating Extra if he hasn’t fed on a corpse within a 24 hour period.

        Reputation: Although largely unknown right now, as word spreads of Black Vulture and his followers, their nasty habit of eating the dead makes them almost universally loathed by others.


        Background: The leader of the "lost" Avian clan who stayed behind when the majority of them left found the Aerie, Vohl-Turr wasn't content with the clan's staying hidden in the Atlas Mountains and began readying his warriors to start a war with humanity to expand his people's borders. Shortly after this a young Hyperborean, named Quo Dis, was discovered near the clan's home and was declared by Vohl-Turr to be an advanced scout for humans seeking to attack the Avians in an effort to further push his people to further his agenda.

        Fortunately for Quo Dis, six recently empowered metahumans that she had recently fought in Emerald City a few hours earlier managed to track her down. Despite getting captured themselves by Vohl-Turr's warriors (due mostly to their inexperience) they came to an understanding with Quo Dis and together the seven of them were able to turn the tables on Vohl-Turr and his people and stop their attempted invasion of Emerald City.

        Vohl-Turr is currently recovering from this loss and what his next move might be isn't known.

          Complications:
          Claustrophobia: Because of the way she was raised, as well as her Avian nature, Cally cannot stand to be confined or in a tight space for a long period of time. If she does she quickly becomes restless until the point she is likely to have a panic attack.

          Non-Human: Cally has bright red feathered wings protruding from just above her shoulder blades while her green eyes are unmistakably avian in appearance, thus she has to take extra measures to be able to pass as normal.

          Stranger In A Strange Land: Cally was born to a human father and an Avian mother, then raised in both Dakana and the Aviary. This unique upbringing has left her as something of an outcast as she has trouble fitting in.


          Relationships: Elara (mother), Talona (cousin).

          Responsibility ~The Aviary: As much as they might not like her, Cally fights for the Aviary every bit as hard as her cousin, Talona does.

          Winged, Scottish Readhead: Does this one really need to be explained? Suffice to say Cally is considered to be something of a firecracker by her teammates and friends.


          Background: CallyAnn Mcgowrie was born from a unique union. Her mother was a full blooded member of the avian race who was exploring the world of the landwalkers in an attempt to learn more about them. Partly out of curiosity and party out of a need for the aviaries leadership to better understand their potential enemies. Contact with the Freedom League, and the Atom Families had proved beneficial for them, but other surface worlders had proven less then honest or even hostile. Unfortunately on a trip to Dakana to meet the White Lion she ran into a group of the latter, and she was trapped by a group of mercenaries working for a mega corporation with Shadow backing who wanted to exploit the Nations Daka Crystal resources. Caged and held as a potential hostage Elara then met the man who would save her, Seamus McGowrie a Scottish mercenary working with the men who was assigned to feed and watch her since he was new and not quite trusted with any more serious duties. Seamus fell in love with the beautiful Avian captive and after a brief if tempestuous flirtation promised he would rescue her.

          When the White Lion got wind of what had happened to the visitor form the Aviary he was expecting he was furious and made short work of the mercenaries. Seamus freed Elara during the fighting and the pair escaped to safety, finding sanctuary in Dakana afterwards. Cally Ann was born a just over a year later and quickly grew to be a healthy young woman though her father passed on due to an illness when she was a teen. This affected her and her mother deeply and the pair left to return to the Aviary.

          Cally had a rough time in the Aviary due to her being half Human and she fought hard to earn herself a place in Avian society. She would eventually gain the respect of her people, including her cousin Talona (especially once it was discovered that Cally also possessed the ability to converse with birds). Combined with the fact that Cally was a physical powerhouse as well as highly agile, she was a match for any Avian warrior.

          Cally would come full circle when she was asked to return to Dakana by the elders of the Aerie at the to help of the Atom Family in repairing the Aerie's environmental technology. Traveling there Cally met Tesla Atom and the pair struck up a friendship, becoming pen pals. While in Dakana Cally helped the Atom Family fight against the Power Corps when they attempted to rob the Daka mines. Taking up a mace from a fallen Warrior Cally accounted herself well and earned the thanks of the new King M'Balla. As a reward for her efforts, Cally was given a mace made of Orichalcum and powered by Daka Crystals.

          Cally took to the new weapon like a duck to water.

          After that she has returned to the Aerie, but made occasional forays into Freedom City to continue her education where she built a reputation for herself as a fiery heroine with an attitude whose outspoken defense of not only the Aerie, but anyone in need. For several years Cally worked to protect the Aerie and eventually became known as one of the best warriors and Talona's second when she became the leader of the Avians and was happy with her life. A few years ago the Freedom League held an membership drive and Talona sent Cally to apply in an effort to foster stronger relations with the human world. Following the interviews and tests the League administered, as well as an attack by members of the Crime League, Cally was among those chosen to join.

          In the time since Cally, as Raptor Red, has distinguished herself well as part of the Freedom League and is always ready to defend those in need.

            Complications:
            Jerk With A Heart Of Gold: Mako grew up caught between to worlds, often times riddculed and picked on for being half human when he was younger. As a result he's developed a persona that is a mixture of aggrogance and direct that can sometimes rub people the wrong way.

            Relationships: His mother, Oranna (his wife), Prince Marcus, and Princess Thetis.

            Responsibility ~House Atlan Of Atlantis: Mako is considered to be part of the Royal Family of Atlantis (though he is actually a second cousin to the children of King Theseus), and sometimes is called upon to perform certain duties that require him to be active in the Atlantean government.

            Responsibility ~Oceanic Industries: A business funded by Atlantis, Mako is heavily involved in it's dealings.

            Temper: Mako has a bit of a temper but it manifests as a cold rage.

            Weakness: Mako dehydrates when out of water for extended periods of time, becoming Impaired, Disabled, and finally Incapacitated before his condition becomes life threatening. Immersion in water immediately removes all accumulated conditions.

             
            Background: Aric of Atlantis is the result of a union between an Atlantean, Lucas, who was a cousin of King Theseus, and a human woman, Mary. Their romance came about as the result of the creation of Oceanic Industries (a corporation devoted to reducing pollution, particularly in the oceans, as well as understand the ways of the surface worlds, secretly funded by Atlantis), which Lucas was the president of and Mary was his personal assistant. After a year of working together so closely together love blossomed between them and they were quickly married. The following year a new member of the extended royal family was born, a boy that was named Aric.

            Aric was raised in Atlantis but also spent a good deal of time living in the surface world where he was educated in its ways. Though the more he saw of it the more he came to dislike the surface world as it was filled with violence, suffering and greed. Fortunately his mother was a strong woman who loved him very deeply and she stayed firm, instilling in Aric a respect for all life. As he grew older, Aric's powers grew as well; making him almost shark-like in many ways as well as giving him a kinship with those apex predators of the sea. This mutation brought the boy to the attention of both Atlantean hardliners (who were unhappy with the current royal family's mutations) and the King.

            Already dissatisfied with the King's policies on how to dealing with the surface world, the hardliners tried to assassinate King Theseus but were thwarted by Lucas' sacrificing himself. Enraged, Aric delivered a terrible beating to the assassin and would have gone further but was stopped by Theseus personally and calmed down. While the hardliner's plan failed and several of them were captured based on information gotten from the assassin most of them were able to keep their involvement hidden, and over the years they would found the Naguar movement in Atlantis. With Lucas' death Theseus chose Mary to take over his responsibility of running Oceanic Industries while Aric was raised alongside Theseus' own children, Marcus, Castor and Thetis. While he loved his extended family, Aric became known for supporting Atlantis' becoming more active in the affairs of the surface world, specifically that they police the other countries and hold them accountable for their polluting (a subject he was well informed about thanks to his work at Oceanic Industries).

            Years later Aric would be approached by members of the Naguar, as he was the most sympathic to their goals, to join them in their efforts reform Atlantis by removing King Theseus. Realizing the opportunity for what it was Aric secretly came to Theseus and told him of his plan to seemingly join the Naguar so he could learn who was behind it and end it. Given the King's blessing Aric did as he'd planned, soon becoming part of the inner circle of the Naguar (shortly after FORCE Ops stopped their efforts to sabotage Atlantis' talks with the United States) by freeing the captured members from the dungeon and leading them out of Atlantis.

            It took Aric over a year, but he learned that it was none other than Prince Castor who was the leader of the Naguar (using the title of the Sea Lord). His goal was to create enough political pressure on his father, between the unrest caused by allies in the Atlantean government the violent actions of the Naguar, to name Castor as his successor instead of his older brother Marcus. But that failed as Theseus possessed more mental fortitude than Castor had expected and the Prince was forced to alter his plan by committing regicide and using his influence and connections in the Atlantean government to be appointed as the new king. Luckily Aric was able to contact his cousin, Oranna (who was also a cousin to the royal family) and tell her about Castor's plan. She in turn went to Freedom City and brought back Prince Marcus' allies, the Freedom League, who were able to prevent the assassination attempt on King Theseus and backed by the Atlantean army they were able to finally defeat Prince Castor and his followers from the Naguar.

            For his part Aric was named general of Atlantis' army and was given title in the Royal Court. Following the aftermath of the attempted revolt Aric and Oranna finally confessed their mutual love for one another and married shortly after. So for the moment things seem to have finally settled down, how long that will last is anyone's guess.

              Responsibility ~House Atlan Of Atlantis: Aquawoman is considered to be part of the Royal Family of Atlantis (though she is actually a second cousin to the children of the King), and sometimes is called upon to perform certain duties that require her to be active in the Atlantean government.

              Weakness: Aquawoman dehydrates when out of water for extended periods of time, becoming impaired, disabled, and finally incapacitated before her condition becomes life threatening. Immersion in water immediately removes all accumulated conditions.


              Background: Oranna of House Kamuu is part of the extended Royal Family of Atlantis, being the child of the King’s cousin. She is only a year younger than Prince Marcus, and the same age (only two months older) as Prince Castor, and thus was raised alongside them as was Atlantean tradition.

              As the three of them grew older Oranna noticed the kind of man that Castor was becoming; arrogant and overly ambitious, traits not well suited for a king to have and she was glad that Marcus was the crowned Prince. But as they became adults the rumors that several of the leading nobles of the other Houses of Atlantis were favoring Castor to be the next in line to rule due to his having inherited the powers of his Father and Grandmother while Marcus had not.

              Realizing that Marcus needed all the help he could, Oranna silently gave her support of him by training by his side in the art of combat. Showing that despite her part of the family’s minor ability to speak to the creatures of the deep wasn’t a reason for her to be thought of as better than her ‘cousin’ and she developed a level of skill that almost rivaled Marcus’. But when Marcus left for the surface world in an effort to earn a reputation as a hero so that he could win the hearts of the Atlantean people, Oranna began to work closely with the Royal Family as they started to deal with the Naguar; a rogue faction in Atlantis that favors returning the sunken city back to it’s older ways of life where they were more ‘in-tune’ with the oceans where they made their home and had no contact with the surface people. In fact the Naguar want to eventually go to war with humanity for all of their cruelties and harm inflicted on the people of the ocean and its creatures.

              Oranna became close with fellow cousin to the Royal Family, Aric (also known as Mako), who has managed to become a member of the Naguar to spy upon them. This came after the Naguar’s efforts to sabotage King Theseus' talks with a delegation from the surface world, which resulted in death for several members of the diplomatic party and found the superhuman team known as FORCE Ops being sent in undercover to find out who was behind the attacks. After FORCE Ops revealed the Naguar’s involvement and managed to capture the majority of their leadership, Aric was allowed to free them in an effort to get in close with the group (as he’d long been a supported of Atlantis becoming harsher with the surface people for their habit of dumping waste in the oceans). Mako's plan worked and he became a more trusted member of the Naguar eventually learning that the leader of the Naguar was none other than Prince Castor (using the title of the Sea Lord).

              Castor's goal was to create enough political pressure on his father, between the unrest caused by allies in the Atlantean government the violent actions of the Naguar, to name Castor as his successor instead of his older brother Marcus. But that failed as Theseus possessed more mental fortitude than Castor had expected and the Prince was forced to alter his plan by committing regicide and using his influence and connections in the Atlantean government to be appointed as the new king. Luckily Aric was able to contact Oranna and tell her about Castor's plan, she then went to Freedom City and brought back Prince Marcus' allies, the Freedom League, who were able to prevent the assassination attempt on King Theseus and backed by the Atlantean army they were able to finally defeat Prince Castor and his followers from the Naguar.

              In the aftermath Oranna and Aric confessed their mutual love for one another and married shortly after. So for the moment things seem to have finally settled down, how long that will last is anyone's guess.

                    I have to admit CDs excellent roleplaying was part of what saddened me about the Fl game closing. I had some fun head canons about Marcus Oranna and Aric training and having adventures as kids poking their noses in places they weren't supposed to in order for Marcus to be treated as a hero.

                    there was even a hint of Aric at the end of the FL adventure on Devilsaur island. Some interesting conflicts loomed ahead in that game and some great roleplay opportunities between the more stoic and introverted Aric and the more gregarious and out going Marcus.

                    Heck funny enough I could almost see Marcus irritating Aric --intentionaly getting under his skin-- to the point where Aric has to recite the atlantean equivalent of I must not punch my cousin in the nose as hard as possible all the while gritting his teeth, while marcus laughs long and bawdy

                              Background: Prince Castor is the second oldest son of King Theseus and the secondary heir to the throne of Atlantis. Castor is beloved by the masses, but not because he’s a good person but because he has inherited the powers of his father and grandmother; Castor can become water itself and the population of Atlantis loves him for it, everywhere you go you hear the whispers of dissent. Even the noble’s of the other Houses of Atlantis started to gossip about setting Marcus aside in favor of Castor, though King Theseus didn't ignore the whispers as he believes that the powers themselves didn't matter as no king before him possessed them. He also knows that Castor is not well suited to be king as he is arrogant and even though he hides it well he is also overly ambitious; in short Castor is not a good man.

                              King Theseus decided that Marcus needed to earn achievements of his own in order to win over the hearts the people to gain support for his legitimacy as Crown Prince; the problem was that there was no war going on and there are no great beasts for him to defeat. Then Theseus recalled how much praise he had garnered from his time in the surface world while a member of the Freedom League; he had been welcomed home as an honored hero and had even gotten a statue of him constructed in the Hall of Champions. If Marcus could do the same he could silence any criticisms of his right to the throne.

                              Realizing what the king was planning Castor began taking action of his own - creating the identity of the Sea Lord to his conceal the fact he was their leader he began organizing the Naguar movement (which favored returning Atlantis to it's older ways of total isolation, following the religious orders of the priests and taking a harsher stance against the surface world poisoning the oceans where they lived), with the design of creating enough political unrest and pressure from both the Noble Houses and the people that King Theseus would have to step down from the throne and name Castor as the new King. Unfortunately his plans ran into a snag when one of his soldiers, the rouge Atlantean criminal Sea Devil, enacted a plan to interfere in the negotiations between the United States government and Atlantis. That resulted in deaths of several members of the security team of Senator Hartman, the representative of the United States in the talks, which caused AEGIS to bring in the members of FORCE Ops to investigate who was responsible. Eventually the heroes discovered Sea Devil's and her secondary's connection and following a fight they were captured and place in the dungeon and the talks continued uninterrupted.

                              By that point King Theseus come up with a plan of his own to deal with the Naguar - infiltration by a person of his choosing. Theseus' agent was none other than Aric, a cousin of his own children who was known for being somewhat agreeing with the goals of the Naguar but realized that they were too extreme and remained loyal to the Royal Family. It took Aric a year, but he learned that Castor was the leader of the Naguar and exposed his treacherous dealings.

                              That revelation forced Castor to alter his plan and he attempted to commit regicide and use his influence and connections in the Atlantean government to be appointed as the new king. Aric was able to contact his cousin, Oranna (who was also another cousin to the royal family) and informed her about Castor's plan. She in turn went to Freedom City and brought back Prince Marcus' allies, the Freedom League, who were able to prevent the assassination attempt on King Theseus and backed by the Atlantean army they were able to finally defeat Prince Castor and his followers from the Naguar after an intense battle in the seas.

                              Currently Castor is being held in a specially made part of the dungeon in the castle which prevents him using either his magical skills or his inherited powers. Though how long such a charismatic and powerful man, who still possesses a large group of followers, can be held is questionable.

                                I can't figure out if the attempt on King Theseus' life was successful or not. You say Castor was defeated but was that before or after the attempt?
