    Reputation ~Bully: Darkmind loves to use his psychic powers to inflict additional injury on an opponent that he has the upper hand on, but will plead for mercy if the situation is reversed.

    Secret Identity: Darkmind’s identity as Walter Kleen isn’t known to law enforcement.


    Background: Walter Kleen had been a car salesman who was able to sell some of the biggest lemon vehicles to a buyer with a smile and a line that made them feel like they were getting the best of him. However this slick talking talent got him in as much trouble as it sold cars for him as he’d often pick up women in sleazy bars whose boyfriends or husbands would later object.

    In fact he only went into the Mind, Inc. building in Piqua, Oh to escape from another angry husband, the fact that he tested as positive for the PSI serum was nothing more than pure chance.

    Unlike most of the other PSI agents, Walter realized that there was more going on than they were being told but he played along because he could smell a good deal in the works and wanted some the power that Psimon and Medusa displayed for himself. So when he first began to manifest his psychic powers Walter hid them and secretly honed them while pushing their development as he didn’t want to share it with anyone.

    Despite his best efforts however, keeping secrets while among a group of powerful mind readers is virtually impossible and eventually Walter was approached by Psimon himself and forced to reveal his powers. But instead of punishing him Psimon simply asked Walter why he’d hid his powers, to which Walter found himself explaining himself and instead of being judged by Psimon the former salesman was understood and in a rare moment of honestly Psimon shared the evolution of his own powers and ended up recruiting Walter into the upper level of PSI.

    That moment of honestly between he and Psimon all those years ago has kept Walter loyal to PSI and he honestly believes the dogma that Psimon preaches to their agents. Not knowing that if push came to shove that not only would Medusa leave him to rot but so would Psimon.

      Background: One of the many PSI agents, Katherine Pine was one of the few to have a unique reaction to the PSI serum; manifesting a number of telekinetic arms. Upon seeing her for the first time Psimon named her Cottus, after one of the Hecatoncheires, the “hundred handed” monsters born to Gaea & Uranus of the Titans of myth.

      Psimon quickly used his charms on Katherine to ensure she’d be loyal to PSI and soon began her training in the uses of her psionic power. In the years since Katherine’s subconscious has been so entranced by Psion’s psionic charisma that she’s one of the most loyal members of PSI despite the efforts of Parker Psion to secretly recruit her to the Psions.

        Background: Another of the dozens of people recruited to become an agent of PSI thanks to her having a positive reaction to the PSI serum, Lori London developed a unique set of psychic powers that brought her to the attention of Psimon and Medusa. Quickly recruited into the inner circle of PSI and trained in the useage of her powers, Lori was named Torment as all her powers were painful on her targets.
        While she is loyal to PSI like the others (Darkmind, Cottus, Mind Slayer, Soulfire and Inquisitor) Torment is trying to locate he sister who ran away from home years ago and is using PSI's resources to try and track her down.

          Living Through Others: Embrace is a VERY amorous person and loves to use other people’s bodies to fulfill her desires and vices.

          Loyalty: To PSI.

          Memory Problems: Embrace can't remember anything about her life before manifesting her powers.


          Background: Embrace was a young girl who was an agent of PSI who had the misfortune of being the only person nearby when Bodyjacker suffered a stroke (thought by Psimon to have been a side effect of the PSI serum). Desperately clinging to life Bodyjacker did the only thing he could think of - use his powers to survive. The problem was that the girl had recently been given the PSI serum herself and was slowly manifesting her own psychic powers, specifically the ability to copy the skills of others as well as the psionic abilities of other pyschics.

          Thus Bodyjacker unwittingly gave her a direct link to his powers which allowed her to fight off his efforts to possess her but the effort burnt out her psionic copying ability by permanently imprinting Bodyjacker's power.

          The trauma of the moment caused the girl to also copy several of Bodyjacker's personality traits, such as smoking for one, and a bad case of amniesa. Soon she was found by other PSI agents and taken to the infirmary where Psimon personally oversaw her recovery as well as helping her to figure out her "powers". Content to live her life as she saw fit as a member of PSI, Embrace, as the girl was named by Psimon, has been more than happy to use her possession power to act as an inflitrator for PSI.

            Secret Identity: Inquistor’s identity as John Peck isn’t known to law enforcement.

            Unique Diet: Inquisitor must use his Psychic Vampirism power at least once every other day or else begin to suffer from the effects of starvation.


            Background: John Peck was one of the few people to have an adverse reaction to the PSI serum and fell into a coma that lasted for over a year while it changed not only his body but his mind as well - when Peck woke up he believed he'd been attacked by a vampire and that he'd survived the experience but had become a variant of the creatures of the night.

            It's a belief that Psimon has allowed Peck to have as his powers are very useful towards his goals for PSI's future.

            The rest of PSI find Inquisitor, as Psimon named Peck, to be either creepy as hell or just plain weird and tend to avoid him if possible.

              No Lethality: Empath would rather avoid unneeded violence if possible, unfortunately not all of the other members of the Psions agree with her.


              Background: Still the leader of the Psions, as long as they're in the field, Empath is starting to wonder just how right her grandfather is in his goals of creating a society that puts psychics in control as all the Psions have managed to do aside from increase their numbers is increase the number of their enemies. She's starting to want a little more out of her life than following Parker Psion's dream, like a boyfriend since Max Atom made it clear the last time that he was not interested in her now. It makes her wonder if Toni hadn't had the right idea when she left.

              Added to that is the fact that Ember has gotten to the point that she barely pays attention to Empath's orders and it's only because she'll use her powers to enforce her orders that her cousin toes the line, which is starting to cause some friction in the Psion's ranks as some of the newer member who already had issues with Empath have been taking cues from Ember.

              For now Empath is staying as she likes her position of authority within the Psions and the fear of an unknown life still scares her somewhat.

                Background: Still the hothead of the Psions, Ember has grown tired of her grandfather's rules and his "all important mission" and blah, blah, blah. She's ready to set the world on fire, literally as she just wants to live her life how she sees fit. Plus the fact that her grandfather has forbidden her to pursue a relationship with Sean O'Toole has seriously frustrated Ember as she doesn't care that his powers aren't psychic based.

                The old man just doesn't understand how she feels, he's too focused on his "big dream" that's a pipe dream in Ember's opinion. She doesn't believe in it honestly but only sticks around because she knows that the Psions are probably the only place she can stay given her activities, but she's been starting to secretly look for somewhere else to go and the Red King does have a nice spread on Genesis Island...

                    I'm just amused by how close to falling apart the Psions already seem to be.

                    Ember is just hanging out because she hasn't got a better offer.
                    Empath is suddenly wanting a real life that isn't dictated by her grandfather.
                    And we haven't even seen Jump or the twins yet.

I ,ean, he looks like a handsome guy of just the right type to Empath. Toni likes his exotic good looks and he's even got the weird hair thing Embers got going on. He's like...the perfect guy!

                          It actually worse than that.

                          It's not really something gone into on my end but Professor Psion did some psionic conditioning on his grandchildren when they were much younger and periodically reinforced it every couple of years in the idea that when they reached this point in their lives that they would be more inclined to follow that reinforced behavior.

                          The problem is that the grandkid's minds were a lot more durable than old Parker had thought, most of his older experiments were on non-manifested psychics or non-psychics (which are much easier to manipulate for the longer term apparently) and the kids have shaken off the majority of the conditioning by this point in time.

                          So while the early teenage years went much easier for him, Professor Psion is only a year or less away from a serious surprise.

                                Not Totally Committed: Jump secretly questions several of his grandfather’s ideals and goals.

                                Secret Life: Jump periodically leaves the Psions to experience something that resembles a ‘normal life’, none of his teammates are aware of what he is doing.


                                Background: Finally not the only male in the Psions, Jump has become something of the "big brother" to some of the newer members and has finally found the friendship he was looking for in Amend (Brain Alders). The street smart teen's self assuredness and laid back personality have gone a long way to help Jump relax a good deal and Amend's growing up in one of the rougher parts of New York has made him less judgmental of some of the things that Jump and the other Psions have done in the past which has helped Jump come to terms with his past actions.

                                In other words he's no longer looking at the Atom Family and feeling jealous over their closeness as Jump has come to the understanding that his cousin's issues are their own and he's not responsible for them, that's more his grandfather's fault than anyone else's. That said Jump still does his best to play peacekeeper between Ember and Empath as well as tries to temper Ember's more aggressive tendencies in the field. But now that he's dealt with those problems new one have popped up to replace them - specifically Jump has realized just how much Professor Psion has been manipulating them from the beginning and seriously questions just how much of his plans for a psionic utopia is just the old man's desire for control.

                                Jump's biggest question now is what does he do with that information? He's not even told Amend about it feeling that it is more of a "family matter".
