      [Multiverse-Wide]Exotics!

      [Multiverse-Wide: Exotics!]
      What are Exotics?
Found in every single reality of the Forever Tree, albeit always in extremely small numbers, 'Exotics' are 'one-off' superhumans that fit into no neat little category.

What kind of superpowers do Exotics possess?
Theoretically anything, as long as it isn't magic or magic-related, and as long as it can be explained via the wonky technobabble of comic book 'superscience'.

      Do Exotics have Exemplars?
No. They do not possess Exemplars. By definition, unique entities cannot have 'perfect specimens'.

          [Perpendicular-6]An intercepted Sunsphinx codex

          [Perpendicular-6]An intercepted Sunsphinx codex.
A DETAILED ANALYSIS OF THE CURRENT TECHGNOSTIC WAVE, AND ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR FUTURE OPERATIONS THROUGHOUT THIS PORTION OF THE LOCAL DOMINION
          Ash the Starbuilder, Mighty-among-the-Mighty
To You Who are Most High,
I give salutations and greetings, along with deepest apologies for the excessive tardiness of this report. Trans-Dominion travel is, at least, an inexact science; at worst, it's mere guesswork. Furthermore, I encountered complications along the way that drastically lengthened the duration of my mission. These complications were unavoidable, even for such as I.
My travels through the Local Outer Dominion were, as you are well aware, prompted by a growing desire for and need of fresh Useful Oblivion. In recent epochs supplies have been running perilously low. Ergo, it was a logical decision to send out a scouting party, to wit, I and my cohorts in Retrieval GAMMA.
What we found is of direst concern to our resource-management time table: reserves of wild Useful Oblivion have catastrophically declined, resulting in the Local Outer Dominion growing minutely more stable. Redundant timelines have dropped by 0.1%, a gargantuan decline, considering the sheer scale we are speaking of.
Furthermore, mass migrations from the Local Outer Dominion to the Local Inner Dominion have experienced a similar 0.1% spike---which, again, is an enormous figure, when the sheer scale of it is taken into consideration.
Designate-K and Designate-L have experienced such migrations in recent history. Furthermore, our nascent kin on Designate-Z are suffering a catastrophic population-decline from a third migration, which is calamitous as Designate-Z has the first superhuman population to arrive to the edge of Sunsphinx apotheosis. Hopefully, you and your associates have these problems well in hand.
Local Inner Dominion dimensional integrity is coming under increasingly overt self-reliance, as Step 2 biomortal species start to take their cosmic fate into their own hands. We can only hope they choose wisely. May I remind you of the Necrophage Incident in the most recently eradicated Weavery-sheaf? That was a colossal disaster, and was ultimately resolved not by us, but rather, by resourceful Step 2 biomortals. That is a lesson we should all keep in mind.
The upcoming techgnostic wave is being prepared as I write this very report. Changes to the Local Inner Dominion should be, at worst, extremely minimal. My Retrieval GAMMA techgnosis expert assures me the chances of a collapse are so marginal as to not even genuinely exist. However, I have complied with Regulations and have set up leyline gardens on each Designate.
(As a note, the Designate-G leyline gardens have been observed by local biomortals, Steps 0-2. It shouldn't be a problem.)
Unfortunately, all is not entirely according to the time table. As I mentioned at the begining of my report, I and Retrieval GAMMA faced unexpected difficulties while prospecting for Useful Oblivion: namely, a techgnostic wave-formation that nearly crippled our ark. We were adrift in Local Outer Dominion R3 for several Aeion-standard months, during which time several possible timelines rippled forth with considerable slowness, compared to R3's normal 'stately' progression. While the narratives of each timeline varied somewhat, the overall message was quite clear: war in the Local Inner Dominion appears to be in the works.
Thus, while our dimensional integrity is most assuredly affirmed, domestic dimensional turmoil is inevitable. It is my recommendation we put the Sungods on L3 alert.
Thank you for your time in reading this report. As ever, Ave Deus.

[Earth-F]A dissertation on local superhumanity: part 1 of 2!

[Earth-F]A dissertation on local superhumanity: part 1 of 2.
            MACHINE-DEITIES:
            What are 'Machine-Gods'?
Machine-Deities are humans from 1112 CE Europe and 1112 CE Asia, infused via radical picotechnology instasurgery into superpowered cyborgs. Male Machine-Deities are designed for heavy, sustained conflict; female Machine-Deities are rebuilt for stealth and reconnaissance. Placeholder.

Where did all this tech come from??!
Aliens. To be specific, a species known as the tzorareesph, a species in a losing war against the Tlolkku. Dying and running out of time, the tzorareesph unleashed the Deityplague on medieval Earth, intent on whipping up an army of superhuman soldiers. laceholder.

Why are Machine-Gods found ONLY in Europe and Asia?
Pure chance. The tzorareesph chose two major population-centers more-or-less at random. Factoring into the decision, however, was the European and Asian propensity for organized, large-scale conflicts, but, to be honest, the aliens could have just as easily chosen the Middle East and South America. Placeholder.

Well, then---why aren't the Machine-Gods being shipped off to some extrasolar battlefield? Why are they running free, ignorant to their superpowers' true origins?
The answer is quite simple, really: the Tlolkku wiped the remaining tzorareesph out in the hours immediately following the Deityplague, and then, not knowing---or caring!--what their slain enemies'd done, just turned around and left. Machine-Gods were created to fight in a war, but never had masters to answer to.

Indeed, Machine-Deities're utterly ignorant to their intended purpose, instead inventing their own beliefs as to why what has happened, happened!

What kind of superpowers do Machine-Deities possess?
In theory: why, any suite of superpowers're possible, including psionics, shapeshifting, even dimension-hopping and time-travel!

However, because their makers died so quickly, Machine-Deities were never equipped with additional weaponry, meaning the Device and Gadgets superpowers are not available.

However, all Machine-Deities receive the following powers at no cost during character generation:
A Head Above the Rest: Density 1 (Feats: Innate; Flaws: Permanent). (0pp.) Growth 1 (Feats: Innate; Flaws: Permanent). (0pp.) --- (0pp.)
            Built to Last: Features 1 (cast-ironstomach). (0pp.) Immunity 1 (aging). (0pp.) --- (0pp.)
            ---/>_-This is a completed universal Machine-Deity power-set build.

How many Machine-Gods and Machine-Goddesses are there?
Quite a few: nearly a half-million, roughly divided between Europe and Asia.

            Is there a Demimachine Exemplar?
Yes. A Tibetan Bon shaman, LIONSHAMAN (PL14/280pp), a four-armed, lion-headed paragon, is the Machine-God Exemplar. Possibly the most powerful of all Machine-Deities, LIONSHAMAN is an ally of the Second Sect, a 'brotherhood' of Starvampire-worshippers! (As you might imagine, LIONSHAMAN is a supervillain!) Placeholder.

            Are Machine-Deities Demimachines?
            Yes.

            What do Machine-Deities look like?
            Placeholder.

            Is the Earth-F imperiex a Machine-Deity?
No. The Overlord is a psychic utterly unrelated to the machineries of the tzorareeh. He is, in fact, an Exotic! (The Overlord is discussed elsewhere.)

[Earth-F]A dissertation on local superhumanity: part 2 of 2!

[Earth-F]A dissertation on local superhumanity: part 2 of 2.
              MACHINE-TITANS:
              What are 'Machine-Titans'?
'Machine-Titans' are Machine-Deities that've drastically malfunctioned, mutating them out of control into ENORMOUS, hate-fueled war-juggernauts.

Machine-Titans are feared by all peoples throughout Earth-F, as they've only one objective: "Destroy the enemy!" Unfortunately, lacking control parameters, Machine-Titans were free to interpret that order in whatever way fitted their prejudices and/or psychoses best.

How do Machine-Titans differ from Machine-Deities?
A Machine-Titan occurs whenever a Machine-Deity's software undergoes a fatal system's crash. This causes the Machine-Titan to undergo radical mutations and uncontrolled weapons upgrades not restrained by tzorareesph Battlefield Scaling Limitations.

              This has several effects:
First, a Machine-Titan swells to ENORMOUS size.
Second, a Machine-Titan undergoes a massive spike in raw power!
Third, a Machine-Titan permanently enters a combat fugue, in which everything around it is either an enemy hostile, a friendly, or else is an objective of some sort.
Fourth and finally, Machine-Titans no longer possess genuine free will, being slaves to the above-mentioned combat fugue.

That sounds...unpleasant. Can a Machine-Titan be 'fixed' and transformed properly into a Machine-Deity?
Most certainly!...assuming you have the tzorareesph command-codes---which are currently on the bombed-out industrial hellscape that is the tzorareesph homeworld over a hundred lightyears away!

              How many Machine-Titans are there?
Right about a thousand, give or take. (Yes, this is a much smaller population than that of Machine-Deities.)

              Is there a Machine-Titan Exemplar?
Yes. Known to his countrymen as Raiden (PL13/255pp), this Japanese Machine-Titan is considered a vile oni, or 'giant': Raiden has immense weather-controlling powers, which he must 'refuel' by consuming human flesh. Placeholder.

              Are Machine-Titans Demimachines?
              Yes.

              What do Machine-Titans look like?
Immense and hulking...and hideous! These're the three universal qualities found in Machine-Titans; other than, every Machine-Titan is a unique flower of monstrousness! Placeholder.

              Is the Earth-F imperiex a Machine-Titan?
No. The Overlord is a psychic utterly unrelated to the machineries of thetzorareesph. He is, in fact, an Exotic! (The Overlord is discussed elsewhere.)

                Crunch writeup:
PL2/190pp. A female cicada-deity, the Somnolent Dreamer, despite being IMMENSELY physically powerful, is sluggish to the point of near-constant hibernation.

Worshipped throughout the Papermakers region as the goddess of dreams, insight and prophecy, the Somnolent Dreamer is an oddity, to be sure! Placeholder.

                Sentinel Wyrm:
                Crunch writeup:
PL10/300pp. Male cosmic entity-turned-human. Sentinel Wyrm is truly unique, as he is a cosmic entity that was stripped of his vast celestial power and turned into a mere human, to watch over the Ultimate City for all time. With his superpowers gone, Sentinel Wyrm built the three other Sentinel-robots to assist him in his lonely task of guardianship.

Despite the lack of superpowers, Sentinel Wyrm nevertheless possesses the Wyrmstaff, a rare piece of functioning Demimachinery that allows the wielder to transmute matter in any way one wishes---but destroying bits of it, at the same time (making it lethal to use on living beings). Placeholder.

                Wardbreaker Sorcerer:
                Crunch writeup:
PL8/121pp. Real name is Elli Elanzth. Female human. A human from the far-off Bowl of Uruku, Wardbreaker Sorcerer has one of the few Demimachines that'll work unswervingly well on Linntuuu; in her case, an Everykey.

The Everykey can, as one may suspect, open any locked door, a trait that helps immensely in a locale where 99% of anything interesting is sealed away! Wardbreaker Sorcerer uses the Everykey to plunder the Ultimate City's tombs and stay one step ahead of its robot guardians. Placeholder.

                Crunch writeup:
PL0/15pp. Forgotten old name was Arra. Female Totemic Priest mundane human; the Incarnation of the Spirit of the God follows the Life-pathway of the Beetle, and leads the Offspring of the Underworld.

As an Incarnation, she rules 1/4th the World of Stone in her king's name. Placeholder.

the King of the World Anu Skyfather:

A 'living god', Anu Skyfather is the despotic ruler over the entire World of Stone, ruling via the might of his Totemic Clergy and his Masked Bureaucrats. Any follows the Life-pathway of the Feathered Snake.

Anu's high PL comes from his position as one of the mightiest monarchs in all Linntuuu, and not due to ANY quality he himself possesses. Placeholder.

[Earth-L]the Tomorrow-Herald, the Sourcestone and the New Garden of Eden!

                    [Earth-L]The Tomorrow-Herald!
                    Who is the Tomorrow-Herald?
The Tomorrow-Herald---James Jonathan Erlkonig is but a mere mundane human in the alien strangeness that is Earth-L---but he holds the keys to a potentially global apocalypse, in the twin forms of the New Garden of Eden (aka, 'the Edenic Lineage of Adam and Eve') and an alien artifact called the 'Sourcestone'!
To say the Tomorrow-Herald is a lunatic is understating it. He honestly believes his claims of godhood, and wholeheartedly believes triggering the Sourcestone is the genuine and true 'salvation' of humankind. The demons known as Ogres will die, and Ogresymbionts---the few that survive!---will be chained as humanity's new pets.
                    Placeholder.
This is the Tomorrow-Herald's stats writeup: Here you are!

                    Who is Impure William?
'Impure William' is a pathetic figure: an Ogresymbiont, captured by the Edenic Lineage of Adam and Eve, and brainwashed into absolute loyalty to the Tomorrow-Herald.
Impure William is a towering giant, but is sleek and alien and smooth in a way more reminiscent of an insect than a human being. Able to spew vast gouts of flame and blessed with monstrous strength, Impure William is nevertheless a 'glass jaw': all offense, no defense. Going down quickly in battle, Impure William is kept in reserve, and used as superhuman artillery. His cruel cultist masters have rendered Impure William fearful of punishment and supremely eager to earn their approval.
                    Placeholder.

What is the New Garden of Eden?
Also known as the Edenic Lineage of Adam and Eve, or the Exalted Brotherhood, the New Garden of Eden is a religious cult-of-personality congealed around a man who calls himself the Tomorrow-Herald. These 'Edenites' (as they call themselves!) truly believe their founder is the Second Son of God and a bringer of a Third Testament of the Bible.
They're deluded, of course, but their faith is everything to them---the truth of the Sourcestone's powers are of no concern to Edenites, as they believe their messiah can control the entropic energies therein!
                    Placeholder.

                    What are the Tomorrow-Herald's goals?
Driven by a frightening monomania to cleanse the Earth of alien 'taint', the Tomorrow-Herald's success is bad news for everybody. Having recently secured the Sourcestone, the Tomorrow-Herald intends on activating the mysterious machine. Dream-visions maddening their intensity plague James' nightly sleep, promising the 'prophet' all his fondest wishes, in return for cracking the sphere open and releasing what is within.

What is the Sourcestone, and what does the Tomorrow-Herald intend to use it for?
A massive sphere the size of a top-of-the-line cruise ship and covered in ridges strongly reminiscent of Celtic knotwork, the Sourcestone has laid buried under Rome, Italy for millions of years, before the arrival of the ur-monsters known as Ogres unearthed it, in their destruction of the Eternal City.
Obviously an alien Device of some kind, the New Garden of Eden went to extraordinary lengths to secure the Sourcestone and bring it---at great personal cost!---to what was once named Trinity, New Mexico, in the former United States of America.

Is the Tomorrow-Herald aware of the multiverse?
                    No. Thankfully.
