  • Any info on Deluxe/Revised Gamemaster's Guide?

Just wondering if GR has released any released any details or info on the Revised Gamemaster's Guide? Perusing Amazon and found it, with a release date of September.

We needed to do a new print run of the GMG anyway, and so the Green Ronin higher-ups were willing to let me tinker with it a little, add some additional villain and minion types, and add some adventures. Most of the book is still the same Gamemaster Guide you know and love, just with about 60 pages of new material.

      Thanks for the info.

Admittedly I was hoping for something in the way of a few new power extras etc (I still miss Independent, and something resembling Slow Fade) and maybe some fixes for stuff like Shrink and clarifications on Affliction. But you can't have everything, and a few extra villains etc are always handy...

I was hoping for some new options for running a game, like alternative Reputation rules, rules on Honorifics, maybe an alternate level system (or more options for awarding PLs), and maybe something along the lines of using Fortune from the Expanse.

Thanks, Omega Girl! Sounds like just enough stuff to buy it! Who am I kidding, I'd be buying anyway, no doubt. Appreciate the new villain and minions, though in the GMG - that makes it pretty handy! 60 pages...nice!

Sounds interesting, if nothing else. I have a hardcopy of the first print run, so i'll probably pick up the pdf then.

Does anyone who's bought it want to comment on how substantive the changes are? Anything good?

+1 to that. I have the original PDF and am not in a position to buy it again for 30% more pages, but if it's good maybe I'll put the hardcover on my Christmas wishlist.

I pre-ordered and took a look through the PDF. From a quick overview, there's a bit of info on coming over from the Beginner's Guide, a few new villain archetypes, some new minions, some templates for said minions, and a new adventure. I haven't compared the two books side-to-side as of yet, but, for me, it was worth it.

There are TWO new adventures, and I picked one up in the Gen Con Exhibit hall.

I bought it this month and finished reading it. I really like it. They took a book I really enjoyed and made it even better.

Grabbed this one last night at the local game store (Black Diamond Games in Concord, Ca). Having gotten it home and pulled the original, and for "just" 60 pages, the new Deluxe seems far more impressive, especially with the hard cover treatment. I was so-so about updating it (before getting it home), but the new chapter on writing Adventures sort of hooked me, along with the various other bits and bobs I expected.
