Shock> I never want to fight Violet ever. Yikes!

Flynn> Yeah, Lex has a comm link on him.
No point in spending EP on it if you intend to leave it at home ;~)
Sadly the guitar just won't fit in the jacket...

Don't worry. Wolf's the only one she's got in that category.

      So far ;}

        Unlike a protective suit?

mich, let me know if you need a bluff check. I guess Lex didn't head up to the roof yet. I just reread all the updates for this scene.

          Heh.
Well, technically Lex didn't buy a protective suit with EP.

And mostly he just feels very strongly about not wearing the Vindicator's "colours" after the incidents with them. He doesn't really like them, or approve of them, and doesn't want to be associated with them.

As for the roof, I thought Lex was on the roof with Martin...

            It couldn't hurt. Go ahead.

I have no problem with editing up the scene so we all get on the same page, but we need to establish what you guys want here. My original interpretation was that you went to the roof. When we corrected it, I sort of had Lex leave the floor for the roof, with the assumption he would then head up (so as to keep the comments about Mira being on fire). If both are inside the building, neither are going to be aware of what is happening above the building, so... how do you guys want the scene?

Sorry, midsummer night madness, turns out there's no internet whatsoever out in the outer islands. I'll post in the evening after I get home, but first, dinosaurs.

Apparently Otso is the master of disguise and subtlety.

Also, I was cheering for the dinosaurs for the whole duration of Jurassic World. Except for Chris Pratt, but I like him as an actor.

Yeah, Jurassic World was pretty awesome. At least that's what I think, since I actually went out and saw it opening night.

Chris Pratt is my spirit animal.

For a good chunk of my life, I was the goofy fat guy. A little over a year ago, I changed my eating habits (I miss you, pizza) and started hitting the gym pretty regularly. Now I can run the mile faster'n I could in high school. My arms feel hard without flexing. I don't get winded coming up from the basement after doing laundry. When I go to the movies, I sat sit in a seat without moving the armrest first. It's pretty spiffy.

I'm still soft in the middle, but my goal is to look a bit more like Chris Pratt, because... wow. I've been a fan of his for years: he was great on Everwood and I'm not sure who I was watching Parks and Recreation more for: Andy or Ron. When he got in shape for GotG... Crap on a crap cracker.

I saw it last weekend. I'm hard to please. I have a difficult time just sitting and enjoying a movie. I tend to pick it apart...

Take X-Men, for instance. I re-watched it recently. I like me some X-Men, but man do I despise their film franchise--and not because they deviate from the source material. By all means, tell a new story! Do something cool with the characters I dig! Just... try to make it make sense... In X-Men, Magneto's plan revolves around using a machine that will turn humans into mutants, but using the machine just might kill him. Not wanting to die, he decides to abduct Rogue, make her absorb his powers, and use the machine in his stead.

The problem is... his entire plan.

Never mind how coincidences are colliding all over the place in the Magical Land of Cana-daa: Rogue meets Wolverine just as the Brotherhood and the X-Men show up looking for her? So many coincidences! Given the X-Men's reaction to Wolverine, it seems that they weren't there for him, but Rogue. They have Cerebro, which would help them find her, but they have a jet, and she hitchhiked from Mississippi to this mystic world, so... why didn't they get to her sooner? Now, how did the Brotherhood find her? Sabertooth's nose, I guess... but why were they looking for her? Magneto wants her to use his powers to power the machine... but how does he know how her powers work? When she first uses her powers, she just sucks the life out of her boyfriend, screams, and hides in a closet. Did word get out about her awesome life draining touch and Magneto theorized that maybe she can absorb powers, too? I'd presume that Rogue didn't even discover her mutant-power-copying power until that night in the mansion AFTER Magneto went after her, because why after the traumatic first use would she practice with her powers? And on who? Who's this mystery mutant she practiced on and where did they go?

This is my gift. This is my curse. I can't enjoy movies, because of things like this.

With Jurassic World... Spoilers, people: For starters, the entire movie only happens because of some lazy story telling. Chris Pratt sees claw marks, and theorizes that the Indominus escaped. Bryce Dallas Howard hops in her car while Chris Pratt goes into the pin. BDH calls the guy from New Girl to ask him to find the Indominus, and he says it's still in the pin. Because Chris Pratt went in, the Indominus gets out... but why didn't she just call them to begin with? If she simply called the tech guy at mission control, none of the movie would have happened. I can forgive this one a little bit, given how my stories sometimes need someone to drop a few points in IQ to make the plot happen, but... ugh. It's annoying.

Then, the Indominus' powers fluctuate wildly. Initially, Chris Pratt has to cover himself in gas to mask his scent. Okay. Cool. The big bad has an awesome sniffer. What about when Pratt and BDH are hiding in front of the jeep, though? They're not masking their scent there, and it's nose is right there. What happened to his super sniffer?

Also, how the hell did the kids get there hands on a battery to get that jeep going? Those things have been sitting for decades. They're not going to find one with a charge. No.

How do the gyroball cars stay clean? The kids go off road with them, through a pasture where a bunch of dinosaurs are chilling out, and they don't hit any poop? Even after Jeff Goldblum's comment about poop in the first movie?

Why the hell did the T-Rex just leave after killing the Indomitable Rex? Chris Pratt made a big deal about how the I-rex was killing for sport, not food, and how that was so unnatural. The park goes into crisis mode, then BDH inexplicably outruns the T-rex in the heels the movie's made a point about her wearing, Blue and T-Rex get an assist from the mosasaurus--so T-rex is denied food... why does he suddenly become dino-bros with Blue and why doesn't he eat the puny humans? Respect? He probably wasn't fed when the park descended into chaos, so... what's up with him just walking off?

For that matter, how did the mosasaurus get to the I-rex? If he's able to jump up out of his tank and gobble something walking by, why hasn't he ever done this to any park visitor over the last ten years? I mean, this is where everyone's been walking by, so... what's up with that?

It was a cool movie, and it has Chris Pratt in it, but I had a hard time sitting there and not questioning so much... Another, non-plot problem? The younger boy's fanny pack has a tendency to appear and disappear at random points. That was kind of distracting to me.

Yes, I'm no fun at parties.

My apologies, flynn: it's an effect like Emily's mental communication, but it is not Emily. It's a new voice--one Martin has never heard before.

Done. I hope that doesn't cause too much of a paradox - "I use mental control to have you fight off mental control..." At the very least I'm hoping it makes her try extra effort for repeated save's until she passes.

I went through Jack's last post and couldn't find anything about his communicator, so are we just assuming he's broadcasting his every word to Gwyn and Kas?

Yeah, that was something of a tremendous assumption on my part. Well if Jack is talking to Otso only, I can edit my post so Kas isn't displaying magical new knowledge.
