    The Blue Knight

As they flew, something to share occurred to Gwyn. "You know Blackguard and Caballero? Well, they're doubles from an alternate dimension, ya? Blackguard says they just showed up here one day-to hear him tell it, no glowy bits or device like with the Drifter. But two people's a bit different from a plane, innit?"

"He estado allí, hecho eso. Ella dijo que la escuela es reacio a tomar las transferencias, pero llevó a los otros en vista de la urgencia de la situación." Viktor sighed. "Siento que te pego. Me imaginé que lo haría, y... bueno, yo sabía que podría tomar el golpe mejor que Randy."

Jack sighed. He wished he could say that he was surprised. "No me importa, pero tal vez un poco más alerta la próxima vez." It was then that a roguish grin appeared on the American's face. "Bueno infierno. Desde que ha intentado la conjetura cosa sensata que nos deja con malas ideas adolescente. ¿Crees que necesita una mano para llegar a la Academia de Asia?" Then explained the idea he'd just had. "Puedes compartir tu velocidad con los demás ¿no? Así que me lleve con usted y cuando usted necesita un descanso te llevaré un poco. Haré lo que pueda para ayudarle a configurar por allá, pero es probable que desee para empacar un par de cosas para que sea más fácil para usted; como el dinero para convertir a lo que sea que utilizan allí y un libro de traducción podría no ser una mala idea tampoco."

*Translation: I don't mind but maybe a bit more warning next time.

Well hell. Since you tried the sensible thing guess that leaves us with bad teenager ideas.

Think you'll need a hand getting to the Asian Academy?

You can share your speed with others right? So take me along with you and when you need a break I'll carry you for a bit. I'll do what I can to help you get set up over there, but you'll probably want to pack a couple things to make it easier on you; like money to convert to whatever it is they use over there and a translation book might not be a bad idea either.

Gus's words gave Otso cause to pause for a moment. "I fought against you. No, that's not right. I fought against Lacuna while she was possessing your body." He met the gaze of the Egyptian boy. "But that wasn't you, that was someone else controlling your body and I can't even believe I can say that last part with a straight face. I only saw Neos on the tv or read about them in the history books before coming here."

"Look, after the whole mess with Laputa the school took in a lot of people that were involved with that group. Most of them had been lied to and mislead, the ones really at fault were sent to prison. Out of all of 'em, you have the least to worry. You didn't do any of this."

Otso's face soured at the next thought. "They used you, because that's the kind of scum the worst of them were. I can relate to that, I..." He paused, hesitating. "I did something stupid, but my faith in the wrong people because I was desperate and someone else paid the price. And I'm gonna have to live with that. But you? Try not to beat yourself up too much over it."

Magnitude nodded at Blue Knight's deduction. "Ja, it most certainly is. On the surface it would seem these are unrelated events, but I think we are just as safe assuming they share commonalities...if not a common cause."

"I don't suppose you know where Blackguard and Caballero appeared in this world? It may be far too late, but once we get some energy readings at the site of the plane's vanishing, we should get some readings where they appeared."

Once again Kas turned to their chaperone; "Jason is a genius of the rarest sort, but experience would be helpful. Does the school have any contacts with any theoretical physicists? Not one person here besides Prodigy could begin to understand the mathematics of what dimensional travel would look like and he could probably use people to brainstorm with."

"In the meantime, the rest of us should start searching for news of mysterious plane crashes or UFO's in remote locations...just in case this is a teleportation event and the plane went down somewhere remote."

Angling his flight toward Vienna he said; "Anybody else have any ideas or suggestions?"

NVAA, SOCIAL STUDIES [LEX] (Lex and Martin; NPCs: Eve, Gaspar, Inoue, Mahdy, Peter, Ryabko, Ryuunosuke, Svetlana, Yuusuke)
Lex shruged. "Apparently there's some girl who's whole shtick is hopping between them."

              "Is she cute?" Ryuu asked.

Gaspar let out a beleaguered sigh. "Kind of. She was apparently involved with one of our classmates. Or will be. I don't know. Time travel is muy stupid."

NVAE: MODERN WESTERN CIVILIZATION (Violet; NPCs: Ashworth, Doug, Finn, Herta, Kelly, Lexus, Mike, Mouloud, Rose, Sarah, Steven)
"Mark that down everyone," Violet said. "It's the first time anyone's ever found that Rose adds anything of value to their day."

Mike tapped Steven on the shoulder. "I think that you owe the lady an apology."

              "Kiss my ass, Frenchie."

"All right, boys," said Ashworth. "Let's all take our seats..."

"Do you know what I could do to you?" Mike growled.

"Do you know what I could do to you?" Steven asked. "Nothing. I could do nothing to you. I'm a human. One-hundred percent human with no fancy-schmancy powers. So, how do you think that's going to look? You, using your powers on me, I mean?"

"Gentlemen." There was a warning tone in Ashworth's voice.

Steven ignored their instructor and rose up and spread his arms wide. "Well, what are you waiting for!?!" he shouted at Mike. "C'mon! I'm game! Hit me with your best shot! One less speeb to have to deal with here?"

"Mister Murphy!" Ashworth was striding towards them. "That sort of language is not something we abide by here!"

Steven rolled his eyes. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but... Herta's the one who kidnapped my mom, took her hostage, and threatened to blow her up, right?" He looked to Herta. "Did I leave anything out?"

Herta's head dropped and Ashworth took Steven by the arm. "Let's go see Doctor Fisher..."

"I guess this place is okay with violent criminal acts, but it won't condone slurs!" Steven railed as he was led out of the room. "It's good to know where the line is!"

When he was gone, Rose couldn't help but smirk. "If anything, he and his brother certainly reinforce the idea that all Americans are uncouth neanderthals." She looked to Sarah then. "Or they just can't keep their legs closed."

NIJMEGEN (Blue Knight and Magnitude; NPCs: Hubris, Prodigy and Vestige)
"You know Blackguard and Caballero?" Blue Knight said as they were propelled back to the school. "Well, they're doubles from an alternate dimension, ya? Blackguard says they just showed up here one day. To hear him tell it, no glowy bits or device like with the Drifter, but two people's a bit different from a plane, innit?"

Magnitude nodded at Blue Knight's deduction. "Ja, it most certainly is. On the surface it would seem these are unrelated events, but I think we are just as safe assuming they share commonalities... if not a common cause."

"If that's the case though," Prodigy said, "if Flight 220... switched places with another plane from another world... then wouldn't there be another plane? I mean, unless that plane appeared somewhere else..." He had to admit, the theory had legs. Tapping into their comm channel, he asked for any information on an unidentified plane landing anywhere.

"I don't suppose you know where Blackguard and Caballero appeared in this world?" Magnitude asked.

The Welshman knew: Blackguard had told him that they had appeared at Robert's family manor.

"It may be far too late," continued Magnitude, "but once we get some energy readings at the site of the plane's vanishing, we should get some readings where they appeared."

Once again Magnitude turned to their chaperone; "Jason is a genius of the rarest sort, but experience would be helpful. Does the school have any contacts with any theoretical physicists? Not one person here besides Prodigy could begin to understand the mathematics of what dimensional travel would look like and he could probably use people to brainstorm with."

"Would a mathematical physicist work?" Hubris asked. "Corey--I mean... Quintessence. His dad's a mathematical physicist in the States. I could try to get hold of Corey over there, see if he can put us in contact with his dad."

"In the meantime, the rest of us should start searching for news of mysterious plane crashes or UFO's in remote locations... just in case this is a teleportation event, and the plane went down somewhere remote." Angling his flight toward Vienna he said; "Anybody else have any ideas or suggestions?"

"Barring a some energy readings at each incident?" Prodigy shook his head. "Maybe once I can have a chat with Mister Ander, I can start to figure this out. It probably wouldn't hurt to track down a magus, either. We lost contact with Rembrandt and Gwen less than a day after they left. I could understand Gwen not wanting to respond--Martin sort of evoked her ire--but Rembrandt seemed too mature to hold a petty grudge. I'm starting to think something happened to them.

"In any case, even if the catalyst for Flight 220's disappearance wasn't magic, a magus capable of casting divination spells may be able to provide some much needed insight. Back at the school, Mister Benson had some contact with people who run in these circles. I'll see what we can fish up."

Once they were back at the school, the group started to disperse. Prodigy headed off in search of Benson, while Beatrice went off to change into her civilian clothes before returning to class. Hubris left to try and track down Quintessence's father.

Magnitude and the Blue Knight, however, received a request to meet with the headmaster...

As they entered their second period class together, Mister Benson greeted them. "Otso," he said, holding out a slip of paper. "The headmaster wants to see you."

NVAE: NEWTON'S OFFICE (Blue Knight, Greystone, Magnitude, Ursa; NPCs: Newton)
Jack was the first to arrive, followed by Otso. "Forgive me," Newton said. "We're waiting on three more before I'll begin the briefing..." Soon enough, they arrived: Magnitude and the Blue Knight, already in their uniforms.

"Thank you for your help this morning," Newton said to the two. "I know I'm running you ragged, but there is another situation I could use your help with...

"As you're all aware, our own Doctor Talley is in New York. The recently reopened New Vindicators Academy is under some sort of biological attack. A week ago, we received a message from their physician, saying that his condition will prevent him from treating the others. Not only did Mario and Johnny travel there with their mother, Quintessence left with him, as his girlfriend is counted among the infected.

"Further, Martin Curie was recently sent to our other sister school in Tokyo. If this campus experiences any attack like the one we faced a week ago, we will find ourselves without any sort of dedicated medical staff.

              "I aim to change that."

The screen behind him displayed the picture of a man who looked to be in his late seventies. He was bald on top, with white, wispy hair rounding the sides and back of his head. He wore a full beard and glasses. "What I am about to tell you does not leave this room. This man is a colleague of mine. His name is Roger Bacon, and he was born in thirteenth century England. He is almost eight-hundred-years-old. He is not a Neo-Sapien, like most of you, nor is he an Esper, like me.

"Roger Bacon is what we call an Æsir. Thousands of years ago, there was a Neo-Sapien whose power allowed her to grow a special tree that grew golden apples. Whoever ate these apples received powers... similar to those of a Neo-Sapien. Like Neo-Sapiens, these powers can be passed from parent to child. Unlike Neo-Sapiens, however: whoever eats one of these apples is made immortal. Once death takes them--be it natural causes or otherwise--they will resurrect after a varied period of time. Some Æsir revive after a week, while others may come back after an hour. In Roger's case? It takes him a few minutes to fully rise from the dead.

"Once an Æsir has died, they truly become immortal. They stop aging completely, they don't get sick... They no longer need to fear natural causes of death. Unfortunately, for Mister Bacon, his immortality was not revealed until he died at the age of seventy-eight.

"Mister Bacon's ability is augmented acumen: he's exceptionally wise. This is a power he's put to good use over the years. Today, the man is a doctor with Médecins Sans Frontières. This is where you all come in. Under normal circumstances, I'd pick up the phone and call him, but... he's in a very remote region, and there is no contacting him. He's also in a very dangerous locale.

"Each of you is more than capable of handling yourselves in a fight. However, you also bring something else to this mission. Kas will act as transportation. With Quintessence helping the Americans, Captain Volonté is acting as the Vindicators' transporter. They're currently in France, dealing with some of the issues left in the wake of the Durendal kerfuffle.

"The skills Harry developed working with Paladin may come in handy once you're on the ground. Finding Roger could prove difficult, given Jack and Otso don't yet have his scent. Jack, you and Martin are the most versatile people I know. You'll be a benefit on almost any mission. As for Otso..." The headmaster sighed. "Otso is familiar with the region Roger disappeared into..."

The screen showed a map of Africa, with the country of Uganda highlighted. "Roger went into Uganda, looking to provide relief to the victims of the UUB.

"I'd wager that searching for Roger comes with a high probability for running into the Ugandan Unity Brigade."

Kas listened to Professor Newton as his senses played over the blank wall of the screen. Well...not blank, but it may as well have been to him. He made a note to ask Blue Knight for an in depth description of their target as soon as time permitted. Maybe Greystone could even assume his shape so Kas had a more or less accurate physical map of the man to work with. Still, a little thrill ran up his spine at the mention of Uganda.

"The UUB? Those are the people who harbored Skew and that other Neo we encountered not long ago, correct? The same people who killed Juozas and Matt's fathers. They are led by this self-styled, General Basenji am I right?"

Rubbing his chin, Kas forced himself to frown slightly. "This could be hazardous."

Inside he was practically howling with glee. I'm coming to kennel you dog-boy.

His excitement about getting to meet a living part of history was crushed by the reveal of their destination and he swore under his breath. "Et oo vittu tosissas."

He bristled as Kas asked about the UUB. "The very same bunch. These cutthroats make Laputa look like saints in comparison. I don't know much about Basenji himself, but I'm unfortunately very familiar with his enforcers. The sooner we head out, the better."

Newton's whole spiel about recruiting a new doctor was fairly boring in the way that the man's talks always were - a whole lot of information that could either bore you or overwhelm you. This time around it was the latter due to one word - Æsir.

A new part of Jack's life because he'd recently eaten one of those golden apples. On one hand he was glad he'd done it now as he really didn't think that Beatrice would want to life the rest of her life as barely a teenager, not that he really wanted to either but at least with his powers he could make himself look older but in all honesty the American had no wish to find out first hand how fast he would return to life after dying.

It wasn't until Newton mentioned the Ugandan Unity Brigade. Jack was familiar with them from talking with Otso after he was tricked into helping them. They sounded like a handful to say the least.

"Alright, so there's a good chance we'll run into the UUB. I take it you'd like us to simply get the doc out and get back?" Jack asked the headmaster.

Gwyn had mentioned to the others that Blackguard had appeared with Caballero in Paladin's home, but he didn't go into any more detail than that, refusing to say exactly where that was. He did point out that there was no proof that Paladin had actually 'switched places' with Blackguuard-he might be somewhere else entirely.

In the Headmaster's office, Gwyn listened dutifuly, wondering who Roger Bacon was. He soon had his phone out. Bacon wasn't the only Doctor Mirabilis. Huh.

"Uganda. Torture, rape, mutilation, child soldiers. And now superhuman killers. Bacon's lucky he's immortal, innit? Still, he shouldn't be too hard to find-can't be that many old white blokes with tonsures in Uganda."

The thought of fighting the UUB..."Least they're down a few, ya? Skew, Ironsides-they've how many left? Five?

Still that's five trained killers with experience that Gwyn and the others simply didn't have. When it came down to Blue Knight and the Paladin, they were about even, in terms of raw power. But Robert's experience had always made a huge difference.

Peter continued shaking his head. "Nyet spasibo. That won't be necessary." He turned to Martin then, with the glimmer of a sad look in his eye. "I'm sorry, Martin. Thank you for the offer to help, but maybe it would be best if I just didn't..."

NVAA, SOCIAL STUDIES [LEX] (Lex and Martin; NPCs: Eve, Gaspar, Mahdy, Peter, Ryabko, Ryuunosuke, Svetlana, Yuusuke)
As Lex and Gaspar rose up, Ryuu continued to sit and not contribute to the efforts. Instead, he ogled Eve, wearing a lecherous grin as his eyes clung to her rear.

"I'm telling you," Gaspar said to Lex, seizing a broom and beginning to sweep the floor, "Xun's pure evil. He's like Harry. Kind of. You know how Harry makes blue fire come out his eyes and make a weapon? Xun's fire is black." He grimaced then. "I wish I could tell you more. Harry fought him--not me. Caray, I really wish I had Harry's mobile number..."

Roger Bacon is what we call an Æsir."

"Roger Bacon is an immortal?" exclaimed Ursa. "The Roger Bacon?"

The headmaster nodded to the boy. Obviously, a few of his students had an understanding of what the Æsir were. It was not unexpected--not given what Tallemaja was after... "Thousands of years ago, there was a Neo-Sapien whose power allowed her to grow a special tree that grew golden apples.

"Et oo vittu tosissas," swore Ursa.

"Roger went into Uganda," explained Newton, "looking to provide relief to the victims of the UUB. I'd wager that searching for Roger comes with a high probability for running into the Ugandan Unity Brigade."

"The UUB?" asked Magnitude. "Those are the people who harbored Skew and that other Neo we encountered not long ago, correct? The same people who killed Juozas and Matt's fathers. They are led by this self-styled, General Basenji am I right?"

"The very same bunch," said Ursa, bristling as he was flooded by memories of the group. "These cutthroats make Laputa look like saints in comparison. I don't know much about Basenji himself, but I'm unfortunately very familiar with his enforcers."

"Least they're down a few, ya?" said the Blue Knight. "Skew, Ironsides--they've how many left? Five?

"Five, that we know of," confirmed Newton. "At this juncture, only two people have ever faced this bunch and lived to tell the tale: Otso and Otso's father. The core group is down Ironsides and Skew, yes, but there's still a handful left..."

The image of an overweight, balding man appeared on the screen. "Larry Harrison was the first one to make contact with Otso. He came to the school to collect Otso..."

As Ursa stepped out of the school and onto the front lawn, the reporters gathered beyond the gate clamored for a statement. In the midst of them, one man was quiet. He simply stood at the front of the gates, smiling fondly at the teen.

The man reached into his pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. Lighting one up, he took a few puffs, and suddenly was standing just feet from the New Vindicator.

"My name is Larry Harrison," he said, blowing smoke rings, "and I'm a Neo-Sapien." All around them, the guards were training their sidearms on him, ordering him to get down.

The middle-aged man smiled as he took another drag off his cigarette. "I was a little bit older than you were when David appeared on T.V., talking of a safe place for people like us. I was there when Moksha was born, Ursa... and I was there when it died. So was your father."

The guards continued to demand Larry stand down, and Larry continued to ignore them. "We got split up, but circumstances recently brought us together. These last couple of weeks, we've been fighting a new fight. Thing is, he was captured--taken by this new enemy. When I saw you on the news, I knew you were our only hope of saving him. Your nose could lead us right to where these bastards are holding him.

"What do you say, Ursa? Wanna help me save your old man?"

Otso panicked as the guards drew their firearms, aiming them at the man. He spun around, trying desperately to think of words that would calm their fear. They were going to ruin everything!

Then the man continued talking and all Otso's attention was focused on him. It was as if the U.N. guards and the clamoring press faded into the background and the Finnish Youth hung onto every word the mystery man spoke.

It all made sense. He'd been withholding information from Doctor Fischer, not knowing whether he could trust her with this. His father had been fighting to protect others, like he'd taught Otso, and now he had been captured by this enemy. That's why he'd gone away and that's why he couldn't come for him.

He hesitated, for just one moment, as a part of him urged him to be cautious in the voice of a gruff old man. Otso held one hand up to the guards, as if he could keep them back with the simple gesture. <<"Please, give me just one moment, I'm begging you, and I can figure out if he is friend or enemy.">> Praying the soldiers would hold off for a moment longer, he focused all his attention on the man calmly smoking a cigarette infront of him. "What's his name? If you really know my dad then why haven't you given his name before now?"

Larry chuckled. "Because I don't know what name he's using these days. The name I knew him by in Moksha was not the same name he gave to us in Africa. Hell, we didn't even know he had a kid until you turned up on the television. The way I see it, he must have been trying to protect you. He's got some enemies, kid--enemies who knew him in his glory days."

Otso felt a mix of pride and curiosity stir inside him at the mention of 'glory days'. But further questions had to wait as he was reminded of the armed guards surrounding them. It was now or never and he couldn't let this chance slip through his fingers. Otso let the hand begging the U.N. personnel to stay back fall to his side as he raised the other one to reach for Larry as he stepped towards the man. "Lets go."

Larry nodded, and clamped a hand on Ursa's shoulder. His other hand brought the cigarette to his lips. He took a long drag, and as he exhaled, their surroundings were baptized in a haze. Suddenly, Ursa could feel sweltering heat--a sharp contrast from Vienna in late October. The buzz from the reporters was gone, as was the traffic beyond the compound's gates.

Their surroundings came into focus: they were standing in a tent.

Larry's hand left Ursa's shoulder as his knees sagged. Teleporting that great of a distance took a lot out of him--it left him weak and drained. As he staggered back, Ursa suddenly realized they were not alone: there were five others in the tent with them...

"Wally Iverson and Rex Riggs have both been apprehended..."

Larry's hand left Ursa's shoulder as his knees sagged. Teleporting that great of a distance took a lot out of him--it left him weak and drained. As he staggered back, one his associates--a large, heavily armed man--caught him. "Easy, Lare," he said.

He was not alone: there were four others in the tent. One, an older bloke in a derby, stepped up to the new arrivals. Something in his manner screamed 'dockworker'. He appeared rough and unfriendly, and his nose seems to have been broken a time or two. Seeming to have more in common than a pug-nosed bulldog than anything else, he flashed an uneven smile full of yellowed teeth interspersed with strait, gold ones--one front tooth and one lateral molar, just behind a diseased-looking canine.

"Oy," he said, "take a breather, Fag-sucker."

Larry shot him a glare. "You try teleporting a grizzly bear from Vienna to Uganda," he muttered between coughs.

The Englishman only smiled his lopsided gilded grin. "Good on ya, givin' this Tonker a run," he said jovially to Otso. The Cockney extended a squat but meaty hand up to Otso. "Names' 'Wally', or 'Iverson', or, usually just 'Skew', on account o' me odd angles an' whotnot."

Another man sat back, impassively watching as the others welcomed Otso. His hair was short cut while his face showed that he hadn’t shaved in the past couple of days at least and while his size was pretty much average the intensity that burnt in his brown eyes was what gained the most attention despite his being of a very solid looking build that was covered in a dark grey BDU styled outfit with a pair of tied down in an ‘X’ pattern across his back and a belt covered in several pouches was worn around his waist. He looked to be somewhere in the middle age-wise of the other two men who’d already spoken, making it difficult to honestly gage but the maybe in the shaved sides of his short cut hair there was a hint of gray.

"Those two give us more questions than we have answers. We know now that Tallemaja enchanted Riggs into attacking the rally at the university, but what we don't yet know is how she was able to locate them so quickly. Similarly, how was Siegfried able to contact Skew and hire him for the attack on Vienna?" The man sighed. "Unfortunately, we may never know the answers to those questions: both men are now guests of Pandora.

"As for the UUB's free members, next would be James Udall..."

After steadying his adopted countryman, the man who'd caught Larry stuck a large hand out towards the young boy. "You must be Grizzly Adams, Jr." He was a big man--tall and broad shouldered with muscles just this side of bulky. A foolishly large gun was strapped to his back, and another to his waist. He wore camo pants and a black tank top-just visible on his tan chest was a tattoo of a green square with a red dot in the middle. He had dark hair in a shaggy cut just shy of falling into his green eyes. He looked younger than most of the other men, maybe in his early twenties, bright eyed, shining white teeth and with nary a pock mark or scar anywhere to be seen on the considerable amount of skin he was showing. "I'm Jimmy."

"James is a regenerator. Whatever you throw at him won't put him down for long. That leaves just two more..."

Sitting not far away and looking unimpressed was a dark skinned woman with close cropped black hair. She snorted as she looked at the men surrounding Otso. " He don' look so special to me. Just one more European intruder in Africa."

"Oy, Blackbird," sniped Skew, "we're all guests in this fine country o' yours. Oughta be more welcomin'."

Stable, Larry stood next to the teenager. "Well, you've met Skew," he said. "That's Isabella Okuna--the belle of our little ball." He chuckled before looking to the big man who had caught him. "Jimmy Udall." He gestured to the big, quiet man. "Rex Riggs, a.k.a. Ironside." He looked to the last member of their group: a fat, bearded man slumbering in the corner. "And, uh, Gus."

An older overweight man with an impressively long beard shifts uncomfortably where he appears to have been snoozing, and shifts his large hat out of his eyes. "Eh? What's all this then?" he muttered, rubbing some sleep out of his eyes. "Larry back again with a guest? Oi, better be a right pretty bird or..." He paused and blinks his eyes at Otso for a moment before sighing. "Aw well, law of averages says he's going to have to show up with a pretty little thing one of these times."

"Augustus "Gus" Wentworth and Isabella Okuna--they go by 'Bluster' and 'Sossus Vlei', respectively. Isabella turns to living clay. As for Gus..." Newton made a displeased face. "In the time Otso observed the UUB, he never once used his ability. Similarly, Otso's father does not seem to know what his ability is either. At the present time, there are two operating theories, given that he has chosen the moniker 'Bluster' for himself: either his power has something to do with loud noises, or it grants him some command over the wind.

"Lastly, there is their leader... General Basenji." An image appeared on the screen then--a face Ursa knew, but had not encountered in his time in Uganda. The world knew Basenji's face: Matt Kowalski had made it his life's mission to make sure the man had nowhere left to hide.

Not that he could, looking the way he looked. Basenji appeared to be an anthropomorphic dog wearing military fatigues. Red, with white markings, he carried a machine gun, while more weapons hung around him. "Basenji and the UUB began as resistance army fighting against the autocracy that rose up over two decades ago. Since then, the UUB has moved to turn Uganda and her neighboring countries into a theocracy, with Basenji acting as a deity and his generals as divine spokesmen."

Rubbing his chin, Kas forced himself to frown slightly. "This could be hazardous."

"Uganda," said the Blue Knight. "Torture, rape, mutilation, child soldiers, and now superhuman killers. Bacon's lucky he's immortal, innit? Still, he shouldn't be too hard to find: can't be that many old white blokes with tonsures in Uganda."

"Alright, so there's a good chance we'll run into the UUB," mused Greystone. "I take it you'd like us to simply get the doc out and get back?"

"Absolutely," Newton said. "His last known location was Kikyusa, a small village in Central Uganda. With any luck, you'll find him there, treating the ill and infirm. Then again, this is us, so..."

Ursa nodded. "The sooner we head out, the better."

Lex shoves a mop into Ryuu's hands and snarks, "Hey, if you're going to drool all over the floor you can clean up after yourself."

Honestly if all he did was look Lex wasn't going to be too bothered. Getting physical, or harassing her, then he'd have an issue. Staring? Honestly he had to remind himself not to stare on occasion.

He nodded as Gaspar pointed out his worries, stacking chairs and desks out of the way, "Yeah, I get you man, but that was an alternate dimension where Kas was evil murderer type. The same Kas who's running around here trying to save the entire world. No telling what this Xun guy is like here. He could be anything from a pacifist to pure evil, here right?"

He smiles and makes his eyes glow with electricity, "What's the big deal with the eyes and weapons thing? I can do both those things too, and I'm only mostly evil, ya know?"

"Anyways, yeah, we can keep an eye open if you're worried,"
                                Lex nods.
