Jack had to give it to Tallemaja, she didn't miss a beat. She was trying to put his help against him. Too bad he knew a way to prove he was really him.

"That's Tallemaja, Gwyn!" Jack shouted as he pointed at the "other" him, hoping that the Blue Knight caught the fact that he'd just used his real name and proved he was the real Jack. "You've got the best chance of hurting her, gut that witch!"

Martin/Tallemaja doesn't hesitate. He runs to the passenger side of the vehicle and throws it open intending to pull the driver out from that direction.

Then he can deal with the attack's origin.

Kas frowned. Did he trust Herta? Not really, but, he had taken a chance on Armande and that worked out reasonably well thus far. There were far too many ways this could go wrong for him, for landing within reach of the speedster to be a wise idea. Then again, what if this was that defining moment? What if his actions now determined whether the young Romanian began her redemption or slipped irretrievably into sociopathy?

For Kas there wasn't any real choice. He had staked way too much of his philosophy on the belief in remption to turn his back on it now. Dropping from the sky, he landed in front of Herta. He wasn't fool enough to drop his force field considering that even if Tantivy was being truthful, there were at least two mages potentially stalking them.

"Why would you reveal this to me if you were trying to bring me down? The double blind bluff has a long and infamous history in diplomacy, but I digress."

"So, you're the one that knows the possible hazards at the school best...how do you suggest we approach this?"

Behind his armor, he smiled. "Proper clever, mun."

He flew at the imitation Jack, claymore aflame. "I know, ya're thinking my name should be glas."

Accurate Attack for +3/-3, using Will Strike 1d20+8=14 Swing and a miss, I'm betting.

Dropping his real name was all the indication Blue Knight needed. "Proper clever, mun," he said, flying at Tallemaja, claymore aflame. "I know, ya're thinking my name should be glas." He swung the blade down and through Tallemaja.

Martin's quick reactions pulled the man free from the wreckage and looked him over. He seemed unharmed, but his car was on fire, and the assailant was likely getting away.

"The mages attacking the city? I think they're the ones who trained her. She's a mage, too. She's offered to train me at some point--says I'm smart enough to grasp the concepts quickly--but the opportunity has never come up.

"I don't know what happened between her and them, but I think this is all connected: they show up and she radios in every former member of Laputa to converge on the school? I think they spooked her, and she's hoping to use Laputa as a shield to protect herself from them. It seems like the mages have the potential to be the bigger threat, in terms of collateral damage. I suggest we find a way to make contact with them, and offer to help give them exactly what they want: the enemy of my enemy and all that %*#&."

"Their headquarters is a bookstore called The Dust Jacket."

Magnitude and Tantivy turned, and watched as three figures approached them.

"I can't read her thoughts," Catalyst said. "Either she's carrying a seed, or she's straight-up being protected by Lacuna. I'm not sure if we can trust her."

"I'd only trust her as far as I can throw her." Candyman smirked at the duo. "Hello, little sister."

Prodigy ignored his companions. "The problem with her plan," he said, "is that it doesn't take into consideration that we don't necessarily know the mages' motives. For all we know, Laputa is the lesser of the two evils. While I can support playing both groups against each other, we can't deny that both need to be brought down. If you two are interested, I can take you to the mages' base, and we can work together to bring them down. Once we have taken down one of them, Catalyst can scan their mind to find out what they're up to, and we can truly begin to plan against our opponents.

              "What say you two?"

Lex sighs, "We might be able to check at the front desk, but chances are the computers are locked and the receptionist is gone. Martin... doesn't really hang with many people from what I remember."

He frowns now that he thinks about it, unable to remember seeing Martin with much of anybody other than his sister and Tat. That would make finding somebody who knew his number a lot harder since both of those people were missing.

"We could try asking Kirstie, she's Tat's friend so she might have Martin's number," He shrugs, "Bit of a stretch though."

And just when Kas had thought things had gotten as tangled up as they possibly could, no less than three prodigal cadets from the academy show up. He turned toward them as they approached. It was a movement of courtesy, not necessity since his sensory powers worked equally well from any angle. It was disconcerting, he knew when he failed to face the person he was paying attention to. It all tied back into sight being a humans' primary sense.

He'd listened to Tantivy's suggestion and truthfully it almost sounded like an invitation to walk into a trap.

Jason's counter-plan sounded slightly better, but the truth of the matter was all four of the individuals he was with had contacts with Laputa and two of them that he was aware of consorted with mages. True, the mage who had been behind Jason's problems when Kas first arrived at school was not among the mages involved here to Kas's knowledge, but that didn't mean he couldn't be. Finally, both Vlad and herta had a reputation for brutality that was far from undeserved, so he had to not only make certain none of the villains involved seriously injured his comrades...he also had to ensure the reverse.

If Kas had thought his frown couldn't deepen any farther, he'd been mistaken. If his expression got any more grim, he'd be mistaken for Judge Dredd.

Unfortunately, he was once again faced with taking action and with it, a leap of faith or being trapped in paranoid analysis of his predicament. Rubbing his palm over his face, he barely restrained a frustrated groan.

"Of the options available, your plan sounds like the most palatable Prodigy." Which pleased him not at all.

Once he'd saved the man Martin/Tallemaja focused on the top of the nearby rooftop.

The Evoker of the mages group was named Mikayla. She was popping gum and listening to a portable .mp3 player when they first encountered her with Rembrandt at the mall. She was tasked with arranging a triggered explosion in a store as insurance against rash action on Lex's part.

Martin figured that now would be a good time for rash action. Leaving the store must've been the final tipoff.

Martin allows himself the bonds of his own molecules to loosen. The resilience to physical threat would matter little against a fireball but it would let him get out of the way quicker. It also let him stretch in one motion to the top of the building. He called the girl's scent to mind from their previous encounter and oriented on her, prepared to track if need be, prepared to strike if she was within 100 ft, prepared to phase downward if she had taken descending stairs.

Jack could tell that even though Harry had hit Tellemaja with his magical-like sword that the mage had managed to weather it with little trouble. The problem was Jack wasn’t entirely sure what he could really do against her as his last fight with her ended only because he blinded her and she’d run off.

                            They needed to overwhelm Tallemaja.

Then Jack heard Otso roaring in his cage and he had an idea. Instead of moving for his double Jack flew towards his animalistic classmate and quickly flipped open the latch of the door, giving Otso a direct path for the person responsible for hurting Beatrice. Jack then focused on trying to stop Beatrice from losing any more blood by shedding some of the outer layers of his skin like a snake and putting it over the girl's injured stomach and used a bit of spider webbing to hold the ends in place tightly.

It wasn't pretty but he hoped it would work.

With a nod, Violet was off, leaving Lex alone with the teacher. "When this over, you need to find her and talk to her. Kirstie, I mean." The woman started to walk away, motioning for Lex to follow. If he'd already cleared this floor, there was no sense in them staying here. "I know it's none of my business, but... you know I'm here, if you need advice, you know?"

Violet headed down the stairs, towards the Wreck Room. As she neared, she could hear shouting coming from the chamber Otso occupied.

With Magnitude levitating the group, the consortium of young heroes began soaring over Vienna. Following Prodigy's directions, a peculiar sight soon came into view: Fluxx, stretching his body to move from the street to the roof of a building... a roof a young woman was racing across, to escape the Frenchman.

Greystone's claws swiped at the lock of his Finnish friend's door. After a few hits, he shredded the metal and the bear exploded from his cell, bounding for Tallemaja.

Dropping her guise, Tallemaja took a new form: that of a freckle-faced college-age girl with auburn hair and glasses. "Stop!" she cried. "Stop, or Beatrice will die!" As Rheid rounded the corner into the room, Ursa charged Tallemaja and went right through her. She was insubstantial--a trick Greystone remembered well from their encounter on Laputa.

"I didn't intend to let her die!" she roared. "I'm not a monster! I can access Martin's powers! I can heal her... Please, let me heal her!" She raised her hands in surrender, and fixed them all with a pleading gaze.
