    Violet Lear
    HP: 3

Violet skidded to a halt. What was Astrid doing? Given the way she'd been talking and then run off, there was cause to be worried. More worried than about an evacuation that was already underway. The Vindicators would be too busy to keep an eye on her. Violet turned around and headed back to the quad. She wasn't going to let Astrid run off and do something foolish just to get Kas' attention.

      [Jack Rexroth]
      HP: 1

"Kas is already in the city," Pict said. Astrid moved to run towards the city, only to freeze: she had no idea where to go, nor the means to get there. "He's going to tie up the skeletons while the Vindicators pull back to here. You, however... Can I ask you to stay here?" Pict stabbed his two swords into the earth. "Together, you and I should be able to do anything, lad. You can make a tattoo of anything appear on your skin, and I can bring tattoos to life.

"How's about we get to making some reinforcements?"
Jack smirks as the usual assortment of black tribal tattoos that covered his arms disappeared. "Sounds like a plan." He then pulls his uniform shirt off and drops it on the ground. "Let's get started, what do you got in mind? I'm thinking since they want to go all D&D on us then we need dragons, big winged, scaly, fire breathing dragons."

Martin sighed as his fellow classmates seemed to be disbanding. As 'Mary' he proceeded along to the front of the school. His deception could conceivably end the attack (or so he believed) so he could not deviate from that.

Mary kept walking but covered her mouth as if warding off dust and Martin shifted his/her mouth to right by the commlink, speaking low but as himself.

"Martin 'ere, I am preoccupied but I remind people about Otso and Viktor. Otso may be able to 'elp and Viktor will need assistance to evacuate safely. And remember ze general announcement zat if you see Viktor but 'e is in control of 'is powers it may be zis doppleganger wiz malicious intent we were warned about." Martin wondered if there HAD been a 'general announcement' about that - maybe he should put something about it in the prefect newsletter he was thinking about writing.

Martin shifted 'Mary's' mouth back in to position and kept walking.

          The Blue Knight

Spittle flew from Gwyn's lips, along with a rush of air that could charitably be called a wheeze of pain-though it was closer to a whimper. Fab i ast, this man could hit. His wings fluttered, armor becoming transparent and vanishing for a moment. He felt his fingers open.

Then he closed them around Fey again, and his cerulean armor burst back into life-although burst implies some surge of radiance, which of course there was none. Hellfire and all. He needed some H E L P, but Ander was-what the hell was he doing? Was that Dominique flippin' Infinity? Still, he had to focus on the guy who felt like he'd bent his ribs backwards.

"Whassa matter, Charlie? They don't teach you how to hit where you come from?"

He was still hurtin, and so he decided to mouth off. Robert wouldn't have liked it. He wouldn't have liked that crack about this guy's race either. Or, this next bit. "Less than a million people in the world speak Welsh. Don't narrow down who you are by spouting off in it." Sorry, Bob (he had never-not once-called him that to his face), but some times you've got to cut loose.

          "Cymru am byth!"

Gwyn's claymore springing to life. He swung down through the man made of metal, figuring that if he couldn't blast him, maybe he could just cut his spirit. Then he spun, floating back and using his weapon's reach to do it again, this time cutting through him horizontal. But a fight this high, when he could fall, or drop one of his teachers, was a bad idea.

He flew to a nearby rooftop, gingerly setting the Irishwoman down. Gwyn called out to the Asian-what was he, Thai?-man.

"I know you, ya? You're after some Swedish twist, huh?" This guy had beaten three of his classmates, and a Vindicator. But if the Big Cold Balt could deal with him, Gwyn and his terrible swift sword would make a damn fine showing.

Toughness check (DC 30) 1d20+11=22 Stunned, Injured&Bruised. Normally, this would be the part where I roll a bunch of Concentration checks and potentially have Gwyn fall, armorless to the ground (and drop Fey, too), but instead I'll spend a Hero Point to Instant Recover from the Stun.
Attack, unmodified with Will Strike 1d20+5=16 I accidetnally put a +7 in there for some reason, my bad. If that hits, DC 26 Will. If not, (and even if it does) Extra effort to do it again.
          1d20+5=22 DC 26 again.
Then, Gwyn will fly a bit away (I suppose he might be faster than Dante but he's not explicitly trying to get out of range or anything). Second Hero Point to ignore Fatigue from Surging. I think I have one left.

NVAE: BOYS' DORMS (Lex; NPCs: Lexus)
A handful of his classmates were making their way out of the dorms, heading for the main building, and the sublevel beyond. As he moved to oversee the evacuation, Lexus ran up to him. "Lex!" he said. "We've got a big problem!"

He handed Lex his mobile phone, displaying a text message that simply read "Converge at the school."

"A few months ago, Tallemaja--Erudite's pawn--approached me about reviving Laputa. I said yes, and then told Headmaster Newton everything. He told me to play along if she came back to me--to act as a spy on the inside. She just sent out that text message. If she approached me, she may have approached the others. I think she just mobilized the other pawns. Rheid, Felsic, Tantivy--they're all inside the school."

As Lex held it, the phone beeped with a new message: "Wizards are attacking the school. Defend the grounds."

NVAE: FRONT QUAD (Jack and Violet; NPCs: Astrid, Lexus, Pict, Tantivy)
Pict stumbled a bit as he brought Jack's tattoo to life. It looked as though it was a taxing thing for the Vindicator to use his powers in such a manner. Nevertheless, a dragon now stood on the front lawn, looking very menacing.

Astrid still stood at the read, watching--waiting for something.

Something came: there was a rushing sound, and then Tantivy was standing before them. "So," she said, "the $*#& hit the fan, huh?"

            NVAE: OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL (Martin)
A few moments after Martin appeared outside the grounds, Tallemaja began to talk through the commlink. "Stretch like you're yawning!" she commanded, her voice dripping with urgency. "Hurry!"

VIENNA: AIR (Blue Knight; NPCs: Dante, Fey)
No sooner had Blue Knight flown from Dante had the magic martial artist slammed into him again. "Didn't anyone ever teach you?" he asked. "Never show your back to an opponent."

As Dante's fist collided with Blue Knight's face, he leapt back and out of the path of Nothing's wild charge for him.

Nothing's attack (Charge) (1d20+6=8) The hell, IC...

This round will have Kas dunking Nicolas in the river.

              Violet nodded quickly.
"There are giant skeletons all over the city. We think the wizards are coming again." She looked nervously at the dragon and took a couple of steps away. She was more than willing to let the Vindicators handle it. "Come on, Astrid. I don't think this is where we want to be."

                  The Blue Knight

The blow rang Gwyn's bell, leaving his head swimming. His shield of flames guttered and died, and he was just a teenaged boy again. The blue flames in his eyes did nothing to hide his obvious expression of pain, but they were still defiant.

He couldn't work his mouth enough to talk, but he managed to spit a little on the rooftop between them. It was tinged with blood, not a good sign.

Toughness save 1d20+10=11 That is so sad its almost funny.
Final Hero Point to re-roll 1d20+10=29 That's another Bruised/Injured, and Harry is Stunned.
Concentration check 1d20+8=13 He fails to keep his Force Field up.

Blut Knight-Bruised&Injuredx2, Stunned, effective toughness +2

Lex buried his face in his palm, muttering something very unkind about the staff. It was all he could do to keep his powers under check and locked down.

Finally he looks up, "Alright, fine. They want to help? Fine. Let them. Keeping people here safe is what I'm worried about. First we deal with the giant skeletons coming to attack our school, then we kick their asses out."

"Come on, Astrid. I don't think this is where we want to be."

"It's where I need to be," Astrid said firmly. "Mister Ander is going to open another portal. Mister McClanahan said the other Vindicators were going to pull back to here, and leave the fighting to Kas."

Pict looked worriedly to Astrid, realizing what her plan was: the instant Quintessence opened a portal, she was going to charge through it, in an attempt to join up with Magnitude.

He wasn't the only one to realize the young girl's intentions: Tantivy turned then and slugged the Austrian girl in the stomach. Astrid doubled over, and was passed to Violet. "Get her out of here," their classmate said, a touch of sadness in her in voice.

                      NVAE: OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL (Martin)
"Did you?" Tallemaja asked, her voice urgent. "Mic just hailed me telepathically and told me to stretch like I was yawning. If you didn't, they'll know something is..." She trailed off then. "You're supposed to walk two blocks up, then turn north. There's a... Okay, there's a car waiting. It's a black town car. The engine will be running. The driver will take you to where you need to go."

VIENNA: AIR (Blue Knight and Magnitude; NPCs: Dante, Fey, Nothing)
                      Gwyn!

Dante rolled his eyes at Nothing's wild charge: his opponent was still up, albeit looking worse for wear. "What's the matter, little boy?" he asked. "Didn't they teach you how to take a punch where you're from? Or did your lessons stop after how to run your mouth?"

Gwyn! roared someone the Welsh boy could not see.

He grabbed Blue Knight by the throat and swung his iron fist into the boy's solar plexus.

You're weak! It wasn't speaking any language Blue Knight knew, but somehow he could understand the invisible speaker perfectly. Let me kill him!

As Magnitude moved to return to the battlefield, an enormous cone of azure flames erupted from Blue Knight's right eye, reaching for infinity and cleaving the sky in two. Hellfire washed over the side of the boy's face, cascading down his neck and over his shoulder. It was solidifying around his arm, creating some sort of bestial arm that was twice as big as he was.

Nothing stood paralyzed by the sight, watching as the unthinkable happened: Gwyn's demonic side had been awakened.

                            The Blue Knight

The blow elicited a cracking sound-something inside Gwyn had definitely been broken, and he dimly felt pain. Out of nowhere, something clicked in Gwyn's mind-which had rapidly lost control of his body, massive tissue damage and shock aside-there was a reason the teachers subtly encouraged him to keep an eye on Ellen. Why Ashford watched them both.

Why Robert had picked him of all people, to be his partner, as opposed to an adult or someone experienced with their powers.

But this new understanding was overridden by the horde of voices clamoring in his mind. Voices that spoke from his open mouth, a waft of sulfur coming through with them.

                            "אביר."

Toughness save 1d20+2=6 Yeah, its a good thing he's transforming as opposed to, you know, dying.

                              HP: 1

Once he saw the dragon leave his skin and take to the air above them Jack put his top back on and readied himself for a fight; scales covering his body while his muscles swelled to body builder proportions and dragon-like wings grew from his back.

While he’d been readying himself, Jack saw Tantivy lash out at Astrid and understood what she was doing – the girl was damn determined to be by Kas’ side and since her power wasn’t that much use in a fight she’d be more of a liability to the German teen. As Tantivy passed Astrid over to Violet Jack said nothing, he’d been considering doing the same thing so it wasn’t like he could really pass any judgment on Vlad’s “little sister” for doing it. He just nodded his head when Violet glanced over at him after Tantivy told her to get Astrid out of here, he just hoped that Astrid wouldn’t hold to much of a grudge on Tantivy for doing it.

After the two girls were gone Jack looked over at Tantivy then Pict. “These mages like to work in pairs, they’ve figured out ways to combine their areas of magic to be more effective, so if we figure out which of the two is the weaker go after them so they can’t help the other any more and it should make things easier for us.”

“Sound like a basic enough plan?”

Violet just stood there for a second, shocked by Tantivy's actions. But Jack's nod of approval was enough to get her moving. And it would be best to get Astrid as far away as possible before she recovered.
"Come on then. Off to safety." She grabbed the girl and half-dragged, half-carried her to the elevator that would take them down to the shelter.
