      Magnitude
      Kasimir Flaegler
      Condition: -1 Bruised
      HP 3-2=1 LP 0

Kas peeled himself up off the pavement and grimaced. The wizard hadn't even flinched when he'd collided with him. So much for Anomaly. He released the extra mass, with a feeling of relief. Clamboring back to his feet, Kas steeled himself for a battle that had already been lost by no less than three Vindicators. Three Vindicators, and who was he? He was the leader of a bunch of students who played hero alot, but struggled when it came to real threats.

Then again, he stood up to giant monsters, extra-dimensional dictators...and Jack's father, not to mention that witch Tantivy. He could do this.

He lashed out with his powers, warping the gravity around the wizard. Maybe if he immobilized the man, his spell casting ability would be truncated.

Drop the Density Increase A.P. as a free action. 1 HP to coutner fatigue from extra effort. Attacking with Telekinesis as a grapple.

To Hit. 1d20+8=28. Ha! It figues I'd crit with a non-damaging attack. Ranged Grapple Check. 1d20+16=24. sigh. HP to re-roll and...

1d20+16=33. This is an opposed check, so I've got no idea if I won.

NVAE: FRONT QUAD (Lex, Violet; NPCs: Astrid, Roger Murphy, Pict)
"You need evacuate the school," Pict said. "Several giant skeletons had appeared in the city--at least fifty. The Vindicators and Magnitude are containing the damage, but Magnitude believes this is meant to distract us--to pull the heavy hitters away from the school. We need to get everyone to safety."

        "Evacuate to where?" Violet asked.

Lex pointed to Violet. "What she said. I mean, unless we got Mister Ander around, trying to run people out is just going to make them an easier target."

"He's on his way," Pict said, looking towards the city. "He went t'collect Backlash and Hubris. The Vindicators will make a stand here, but we need t'shuttle everyone off campus. We need t'get everyone moving sooner rather'n later."

        DAG'S ROOM (Martin; NPCs: Tallemaja)
"No matter 'ow zis plays out, as I go out zere, ready to take a magic 'bullet' for you, I request your word zat you will assist in safeguarding Tatjana if you survive zis day."

"Absolutely," Tallemaja said. "I will do what I can."

"Okay," Martin said, "I'll 'ave in my commlink, if it comes to a face-to-face so you can 'ear what is said and maybe feed me words if possible. Dag should be able to find you one."

As Martin left, Tallemaja reverted to Mary's form. Martin left, spotting Dag outside. "Dag," the Frenchman says in Mary's voice, "go back inside your room, there'll be a lot to talk about once this day is done."

"No," he said, walking beside her, "what was that all about, Mary? What did Martin want? What's he doing? Why did he want you?"

        VIENNA: AIR (Dante vs. Fey)
"Kiaaaay!" Dante shouted, slamming an iron fist into Fey's entire body. The blow flung her back, and caused her body to begin to plummet.

VIENNA: GROUND (Kas; NPCs: Backlash [Frightened], Hubris [KO], Nicolas, Quintessence, Skeletons Aplenty)
Magnitude reached out with his powers and seized the Russian. Hefting him into the air, he squeezed his body with invisible force. If Nicholas couldn't use his hands, he couldn't cast any other spells.

Still, the man persisted to grin. It didn't take much to understand why: even with the mage bound, his hundreds of undead minions continued to rampage through Vienna. "Kill me," the mage said. "You want to save the city, yes? Then you must kill me to dispel the skeletons."

Dante won't risk anything on trying to hit Fey: Dante's Attack (1d20+10=28) Hits. Toughness save (DC 25) (1d20+1=2) Fey's out, and potentially dying. Constitution check (DC 10) (1d20=15) She lives! She's just falling...

Quintessence is stunned. Blue Knight's up. Choose where he shows up, Eld. In the event of him jumping into the air fight with Dante, Dante is sporting concealment, so please roll that with any hypothetical attacks that may be coming his way. I thought I'd mention it now so that I don't bog the flow down.

I don't normally do this--having NPCs roll Bluff. I don't feel it should effect your interactions. If an NPC rolls high, the PCs should not be beholden to act a certain way. Still, Nicolas' bluff is terrible--and I don't mean his skill bonus. I mean what he's saying is pretty dumb: he's encouraging an enemy to kill him, to get the result they want? No one in their right mind should believe that he wants to help Magnitude stop him. Thankfully, the dice gods agree with me: Nicolas' Bluff (1d20=5) Magnitude should definitely realize that Nicolas is up to something, HH. I'll leave it for you to take it from there.

            Greystone:
            [Jack Rexroth]
            HP: 1

Ellen, Juozas and Lexus questions about his trip were answered in Jack's usually blunt and honest style. Though when he'd finished eating they understood his wanting to grab some sleep following the adventure and Ellen said that she'd catch up with him later on.

Beatrice's sharing of what had happened to Otso and Viktor made Jack wonder just what had gone on while he'd been gone and he made a mental note to go see them after he'd gotten some sleep. Though he did have enough sense to try and comfort Beatrice but she pulled away saying that she was sorry for bothering him and ran off.

He'd only rounded the corner when Fiore, Buddy, and Mario caught up with him and began to besiege him with question after question they had apparently spent every waking moment since he'd left thinking of. Funny enough their questions were more about the people he'd dealt with instead of a general overview of how the world worked they wanted to know about the girls he'd dealt with, the fights he'd been in and such, guy stuff in other words. So Jack answered their questions as best he could, leaving out the fact that the hot princess that had basically pawed him up any chance she'd gotten was that world's version of Kas' sister.

Once in his room Jack simply fell into bed not bothering to undress, content to sleep in his clothes and sleep quickly claimed him.

All too soon an announcement over the PA system saying something about all students need to head to the Wreck Room and that this was not a drill woke the American up. As he rubbed his eyes in an effort to clear them of that 'eye goo' that everyone got while they slept he realized that the only reason such an announcement would be made is that the school was under some kind of attack.

"Hell's bells, can't a guy catch a break?" He muttered to himself as he climbed out of bed then quickly changed into his uniform then opened the one window in his room then altered his body so that his hands and feet were like a spider's and simply climbed down the wall to find out what was going on.

Seeing Lex, Mr. Murhpy, Astrid, Violet and Pict, Jack figured one of them would know what was going on and as he got closer to them he overheard Lex saying they should get everyone to the shelter. "Security has already made an announcement to do that, sounds like someone already clued them into what was going on."

"So somebody want to tell just what the hell is going on?"

Martin's annoyed look flashed only briefly before considering he could be under observation by 'Robor' or 'Bird Man'.

"He thought I was someone else." 'Mary' said distractedly.

Martin waited til they rounded a corner, out of sight of windows and far from any plants before stopping and facing the love-blind youth. He couldn't fault the man for his condition or actions - love, or at least the continual snogging that passes for it in this crazy hormone-addled time of their lives was so very powerful.

"Dag, listen to me," 'Mary' whispers with Martin's voice, "Mary 'as secrets which aren't mine to tell. Please go back to your room and get 'er a commlink. It will be a chaotic time soon, ze people of zis school will need your protection. One of zem in particular is targetted zough I do not know 'oo and cannot say more. We need your vigilance, Warder. Now go, please." Martin concludes his voice a little desperate.

When free of Dag he jogs for the school entrance to enact the take-a-bullet-for-Tallemaja plan. One of the stupider ones he's had.

Kas's lips twisted in disdain. "Certainly Br'er Rabbit and I also will throw you straight into the briar patch...because you fear it so."

This mage was a horrible liar. Besides, why would anyone reveal how they could be defeated? Still, he had to move the Necromancer out of the field of play before he went into combat with the flying wizard. With that in mind, he flew upward, dragging the master of death behind him. He couldn't be sure whether the sjeletons needed the wizard to command them or whether rendering the man unconscious would dispel them...but he was certain that killing a Necromancer couldn't be good. The man probably had some sort of magik in place that would bring him back more powerful than ever.

No, what he would have to do is simply keep the mage too busy to interfere in the combat.

"To tell you the truth, I have no idea why you and your comrade are doing what you're doing. Maybe you feel the need to avenge the mage who died during that assault months ago. Maybe you're simply, barking mad. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter to me, but what should matter to you is...how good a swimmer are you?"

Rocketing over the city, Kas stops over the middle of the danube and at about fifty feet above the water, he drops his enemy into the water.

Have fun! Now just in case you're feeling cross, remember, I could've increased your weight and sunk you to the bottom of the river...but I'm a nice guy, so I'll settle for a humiliating defeat. Maybe it will teach you some manners."

Okay, Kas can't fail his Sense Motive check against Nicolas' lie, so I won't bother to roll.

This will likely take a round or two, even at 250mph, but since Nicolas can't overcome Kas' grapple, unless someone interrupts him, Kas is going to dunk him in the middle of the river and leave him to swim to safety.

                            The Blue Knight

It was hard to spot the Little Vindicator That Could-Gwyn had trained his eyes to spot falling civilians, but they were usually bigger. Still, all he had to do was make the connection from where she'd seemingly been struck by something.

Worrying about precisely what had hit her, and might hit him, could come after she was saved.

So I'll make a roll if I have to (Gwyn's accuracy is pretty crap against someone like Fey, so I'll probably need to spend a Hero Point), but that'll be Gwyn's actions for his turn, saving Fey. Hopefully this'll go better than the last time he went into combat with a helpless woman.

NVAE: FRONT QUAD (Jack, Lex, Violet; NPCs: Astrid, Roger Murphy, Pict)
"He's on his way," Pict said, looking towards the city. "He went t'collect Backlash and Hubris. The Vindicators will make a stand here, but we need t'shuttle everyone off campus. We need t'get everyone moving sooner rather'n later."

"Shuttle them where? How?!" Lex all but yelled in frustration.

Pict opened his mouth to explain--it was vexing to constantly have to explain things to the youth. There was an inside joke among the faculty: "Did Lex sign off on that?" Mister Sonck had jested, when Bottom mentioned the idea of a contest between genders with concert tickets as the prize.

When Mister Knight wanted to take his art class to the Louve, Miss Catargi had laughed. "Did Lex sign off on that?" she asked.

"Did Lex sign off on that?" Pict had heard Blaine jokingly ask when Fisher mentioned the possibility of starting an exchange program with their sister school in Tokyo.

Pict opened his mouth to explain, and Lex cut him off: "Ya know what? Never mind," He turned and started to stomp off. "Violet, Astrid, give me a hand? We'll get everybody into the shelter until Mister Anders gets back and can 'port them out."

"Same nonsense, different day," Lex said, shrugging as he made his way towards the school. "Giant skeletons are attacking the city and heading this way... Worst part is this crap doesn't even seem that strange anymore."

"Awesome." Jack said sarcastically then looked over to Astrid. "Is Kas gathering your group to go help in the city?"

"Kas is already in the city," Pict said. Astrid moved to run towards the city, only to freeze: she had no idea where to go, nor the means to get there. "He's going to tie up the skeletons while the Vindicators pull back to here. You, however... Can I ask you to stay here?" Pict stabbed his two swords into the earth. "Together, you and I should be able to do anything, lad. You can make a tattoo of anything appear on your skin, and I can bring tattoos to life.

"How's about we get to making some reinforcements?"

                              NVAE: SCHOOL (Lex and Violet)
Violet and Lex charged into the school, only to find the students and faculty evacuating to the sublevel.

                              NVAE: FRONT QUAD (Martin)
As Dag left him, Martin heard the broadcast over the PA: the school was being evacuated. There were two massive problems with that idea: Otso and Viktor. Both teens were sequestered away in the Wreck Room, and largely dependent on the school to help stabilize their powers. Otso was kept locked away for everyone else's protectiong, while Viktor was kept in a perpetual loop to keep in place. While Otso could, in theory, be evacuated safely if he could keep his bestial instincts in check, there was no way to move Viktor off-campus.

Making it to the front yard, Martin spotted Lex and Violet sprinting for the school. Pict, in his uniform, was standing in the quad, flanked by Jack and a nervous-looking Astrid.

VIENNA: AIR (Blue Knight; NPCs: Dante, Fey)
The timely arrival of the Welsh teen had spared Fey from plummeting into the pavement far below, and announced his presence to the transmuter. With a mighty yell, he blazed across the sky, firing himself like a human bullet at his newest opponent.

Dante crashed into Blue Knight at full speed, slamming his shoulder into the youth's gut.

                              VIENNA: GROUND (Quintessence)
Quintessence shook off the necromancer's last attack and watched as Magnitude carried the magus into the air. It troubled the Vindicator that disabling the wizard did nothing to stop the drove of skeletons.

He considered building up the power inside of him an unleashing it in an explosion from himself. The throng was far too thick for that: he had no way of ensuring that he didn't harm any innocent civilians or his two teammates in the process. With a sigh, he rose up into the air and began to scan the ground, looking for the other Vindicators.

He was tired of this. He was tired of having so much power, and feeling so useless. Once more, the Vindicators--this region's defenders--were reduced to a joke by complete unknowns. Too many people knew too much about them. Too many of their opponents were able to plan against them--figure out the weaknesses in their strategy, and turn it against them.

"It's because you're weak, and unwilling to do what needs to be done."

Quintessence's hair began to grow. It turned from brown to black as his jaw became more square--more chiseled. The sleeves of his uniform retreated. The hair on his arms grew thicker and darker. A hole appeared in the chest of his uniform, spreading into an oval-shaped chest-window that exposed his chest hair.

As a white streak raced through his bangs, his eyes burned with crimson flames.

"Sit back and relax," Nothing laughed, "I'll take things from here!"

"Huh," Lex mutters as they get to the door, "Looks like we already lost Astrid."

He sighs and glances at Violet, "Guess you get stuck the girl's dorm, ya know?"

He makes his way into the building to make sure everybody from the boy's dorm has moved to the sublevel. The entire time he mutters to himself. The staff had no idea about where or how they were planning on people getting to safety. The whole conversation with Pict reminded him of the underpants gnome skit from South Park.

                                Step one: Shuttle them.
                                Step two: ....
                                Step there: Safety!

                                How do we shuttle them?
Uh... Step one is shuttle them.
                                But how? And where?
                                Step three is safety!

He face palmed and shook his head. Sometimes he thought the biggest threat to the school was the staff.
