Jaguar backed up a few paces, keeping her eyes on the thug.

"You didn't answer my question. Is it perhaps you are too dumb to know the answer? I asked who the girl is and, more importantly, why should I care about her? Haven't you ever heard the expression that the good of the many outweighs the good of the one? Just because I work for the good guys doesn't mean I have to care about every innocent life."

" Alright, everybody...seems to be safe but let's all wait a moment before anyone goes in", Maria exclaimed to the gathered people outside before she turned to her new 'acquaintance'. " I think introductions are in order...Justicia, that's me. I help people for a living. And you would be?"

He gives a small, tired smile. "Someone at... the right place... at... the right time..."

With a more serious look, the unnamed man turns toward effectively quarantined precinct. His bosses needed to know about this sooner rather then later, but he couldn't leave strings uncut at this point. "Not feeling... anything pushing through. Doesn't mean.. there's nothing there. Can't keep it... up forever. We need... to check. Coming?"

Samantha kept her walls up until she was sure the portal wasn't coming back. "This may not be the only incursion. If your radios aren't working, send a messenger. We need to know if this was an isolated attack or part of something bigger." She used her mage sight to examine the area where the purple cloud had been.

No point in going down with the ship, and no way for him to keep it from crashing below. Some unfortunate collateral damage would accrue, the casualties of war, but arguably less than if it had kept firing its missiles into the city. When he saw the escape pod jettison, Daemon had a swift decision to make...go after the pilot or the other aircraft. It was an easy choice...as much as he loathed the idea of the pilot escaping, the pod was less likely to be armed. Steeling himself, he leapt towards the other plane, second verse same as the first...

The man merely shakes his head, and makes to move back into the precinct. He had to drop that containment field, and he'd do it with or without Justicia as backup.

"Unimportant." He said, simply enough. He didn't enjoy having to give long winded explanations, usually he just gave his bosses written reports. It annoyed him just as much as it probably did his conversation partners. When he continued, it was in that same strained, drawn out tone. "I know as much... about this... as you probably... do. Nothing. But... it's dangerous. That much... is clear."

                        Justicia and Silversheen

Silversheen as you walk back towards the precinct once again you feel nothing pressing against your barrier. There are only a few options as to what had occurred.

                        1. Whatever was inside is now gone. The energy pulse has dissipated for some unknown reason and all is clear.
                        2. The Pulse is lying dormant.
                        3. The Energy Pulse is still there but it is so inert that it doesn't register against your shields.

These three reasons are the most likely. You could wait forever behind the barrier to tell, but the only real option is to slowly let it down and see what happened. So as you go into the building, Justicia behind you, you slowly approach an area that would give you the best vantage with the least amount of open space needed to peer into the dome. As you do, standing in the center is a woman.

Both Justicia and Silversheen recognize this woman. Silversheen you've seen her from not only the television and news, but also from certain classified Dossiers. Justicia you know this woman as well, for goodness sakes she was at your wedding, you worked with her for 10 years, you went to her funeral. You've been working with her once again these past few weeks. Albeit her hair and dress are different, but her magic usually allowed her to try different styles at will. But Justicia, the only question you have right now is...why is Samantha Truth here?

"Alright," Samantha asks, "who was the one that sent an explosion through my portal?"

Thats when it clicks for you Justicia, you recognize this woman. But not because you know her, but because you've seen a recording of her. When Wi-fire showed up along with a transmission from the team that used to occupy the Centurion Tower. The team who were massacred and killed. The one that seemed to have some kind of romantic involvement with Pillar. Or rather some other timelines Pillar. The clothes are different but the hair and makeup, those are definitely the same.

This other Samantha looks to the two of you, hands across her chest waiting for a reply. There is no smile, there is no frown. Her face is emotionless and she awaits a response.

                        Hellion

As the plane falls over the city, your powered legs hurtle over towards the second warplane. The pilot see's you coming though and as you get closer you see tiny erratic lines of bright blue light. It's similar to an electric field and you realize he's engaging his defensive systems. During the leap towards the plane your mind races. The lights wouldn't be a weapon that could be used from above, it would only be effective if someone were to touch the plane. So, does that mean the maker of these planes expected meta-humans to try and knock them out of the sky? The idea wasn't new, several rumors of governments had attempted to create anti-meta-human defense systems, but every single time it required a generator the size of a car to operate. The energy output was enormous to sustain something like that. There was no way that tiny plane could fit something of that size in it and still fly. Well, at least not efficiently.

If you want to disengage you can, otherwise I'm going to need a DC 20 toughness check fail by 1 degree (since thats the most I know you can fail by) and you'll be dazed.
                        Samantha Truth

As you take the time to examine the remains of the purple mist, your eyes glow and you recognize it to be quiet similar to your own style of magic. Very similar. Whatever it was, it seems to be a variation of your teleportation spell. However the mist acted more a portal which means it could certainly be capable of travelling a longer distance. It also seemed to be continuous, allowing the caster to sustain it while those on one end, or possibly both, could travel through. Rather then your spell which required all to be in a general vicinity.

Knowing and recognizing all this, there are a few drawbacks.
                        1. The energy cost would have to come from the caster, not the magic. A fine line would be crossed until the caster was completely and utterly exhausted if maintained for too long.
                        2. If the reason for all of the noise and violence is more of these 'breaches,' then this level of magic should be impossible for one caster alone as the spell would drain the caster quite quickly of not only their energy but also their lifeforce faster than a person could walk through.
                        3. The preparation time to do something like this...probably close to months if not almost a full year depending on the skill level of the caster.

As you instruct the group, the SWAT team and Spanish police decides that it would be best if they go and get reinforcements. Silver Star gives them the communicator that her team has. It's much more powerful then the standard walkie-talkie. They receive instructions to let them know as soon as possible when reinforcements are coming. Unfortunately they have to arrive on foot. As their vehicles are destroyed.

Now that leaves 5 of you. All known as heroes, behind your barrier is some 3 dozen soldiers, some robotic, others looking more humanoid but heavily armored.

                        Jaguar

You're unsure if the guard believes you, but the next two seconds it's clear that it doesn't matter. As you finish talking the man in front of you smiles and readjusts his gun, "You're right, it's time you and I have our own fun now, isn't it Pussycat?" As he finishes speaking you hear the sound of a loud bang. The sound of a gun going off, you watch as the girl, the daughter you just spent the day with falls to the ground and stops moving. Your Enhanced hearing doesn't hear any heartbeat, and their wouldn't be as you watch the shirt she was wearing start to stain red with blood in the center of her back. The exact place where her heart was.

On top of whatever you do, can you make me a will save please

He took the knowledge of the woman responsible for this mess was an apparent member of the heronine's team in stride, more intrigued by the knowledge of just what that mist even was. A portal, one that seemed to take the form of a purple mist, was pretty far down his list for possibilities. So long as she was hear though, might just be worth it to see how many more details she was willing to fill in for him. With an easy expression to meet her own look of indignance Snow prepared to speak at length.

"Messing with portals... One would think... You'd know better. Hope you had... A good reason for it."
