    Silversheen and Justicia

As both of you exit the building, Silversheen given a momentary break in order to fortify his shields, no noise escapes, no explosion is seen or felt. As you hold you're focus Silversheen, the pulse of energy that was pushing against your barrier is there for a moment. But shortly it seems to disappear. Whatever is happening, it might be gone. But ultimately there is only one reason to tell.

    Samantha Truth
I Should have made a post way earlier then this.
"Honestly, I don't know. The radio isn't working well, we're getting static just from each other and we're standing right next to each other."
Silverstar gets out of the vehicle and joins the others. As you look around you see you have 8 Police Officers, 4 heroes and yourself, and from what it looks like possibly double on the other side of your barriers. But as you place more and extend your magics influence around the mechanized soldiers something happens.

The purple cloud that had enveloped the street swiftly collapses on itself, whatever it was disappeared as quickly as it came. Or perhaps it appeared slowly, you aren't too sure, you were never really near the site when all this started happening anyways.

I mean...their firing at your shields but they aren't doing much damage to it and considering how your power works you could just make a new one if it got too bad anyways.
    Jaguar

The halls and tunnels all look alike and despite your enhanced senses there is nothing for you to pick on, just the sounds of your footsteps and the constant thrum of...something. An engine perhaps? Or maybe the wind outside. You aren't sure, but as you continue further in you quickly realize that you aren't getting anywhere closer to finding a way further. Then your ears twitch. You heard something and you realize its the snap of a gun being cocked back. You turn towards the sound of the gun and you see a horrible sight. A man, bald and brawny, everything about him screams hired thug, stands with his shoulder around a young woman whom you instantly recognize. After all you had just spent the day with her.

"You don't want to be here Jaguar, so we made ourselves a little insurance policy. Leave now and no one gets hurt. But I'll put a bullet in her head faster than you can come get me." He presses the gun hard into her head, you watch as tears begin forming under her eyes. She is clearly scared, mucus falling out of her nose as she sobs silent tears. Her eyes are wide and she looks to you begging for help.

    Hellion

The groan of metal being ripped apart even at this altitude would make most men fearful. But as your hands tear apart the wing you find it to be putty in your hands, your city was under attack, no one attacks your city and lives. Before anything else can happen you are already finished, a majority of the wing no longer attached begins to feel the air drag against it. Ripping further until soon it's gone completely. The pilot, whoever or wherever he is, is surely freaking out and soon enough you see an the cockpit eject from the plane. Not a seat, the entire cockpit. Small wings protrude out of the cockpit and a small engine starts up. It can't go far and its doubtful it will be able to fly for long. But it veers away and successfully escaped the plane before it crashed. At the same time the ruined plane is no longer firing missiles or spouting bullets. It's dead, but there is still another plane in the air. And this plane will still crash over Chicago.

Daemon clung to the side of the small craft as he felt it lurch beneath him. He watched with horror as it launched rockets into civilian centers. He could judge by the thickness of its hull and design that it would take far too much precious time attempting to melt through or hack into its navigation systems, and the results seemed unlikely at best. He needed a more unconventional solution, something more immediate. It was crazy, but it just might work...

The pseudo-Demon crawled across the wing over to the edge where the control surfaces were engaged. Digging his talons into the ailerons he heaved with all of his might, attempting to disrupt the lateral balance of the craft causing it to crash into its wingman.

    Jaguar

Jaguar cautiously walked down the stark corridor. This vessel was clearly military in design. She kept expecting to encounter a crew or an army or something. Everything was unnaturally quiet inside the ship. Normally there would be engine and other mechanical noises.

As she continued on her journey in the general direction of the front, the lights started flickering. Probably not a power outage, she thought. Then the lights went out and a shiver ran up her spine causing the hair on her neck to stand up.

Samantha glanced to the side for a moment. "It will last until they bring heavier weapons." Samantha continued creating barriers to close the attackers in. "Do you have reinforcements coming?"

He could get a sense that all that smoke condensing inward was, in fact, a pretty bad sign. They had no proof that it would end up doing something destructive, but he didn't get this far in life by not being overly cautious. Acting fast, he let the barrier around them crumble apart, shattering into sparkling dust that would soon fade into nonexistence. In that same breath he closed his hands while envisioning the sphere of force that quickly surrounded the apparent singularity. "Got it covered." He spoke with an easy smile, though he sweat while maintaining control of the reflective ball of force.

" Okay, this looks really bad...", Maria says, recognizing the sign of an impending implosion with the experienced eye of someone who, courtesy of her "special job" had been at the epicenter of many ex- and imploding events..." Any suggestions or should we hoof it?"

    Justicia and Silversheen

To anyone but yourself your armed stayed still, however your speed and focus build. You quickly begin to feel the air grow hotter, soon a gout of flame begins to burst forward towards the purple cloud covering it in shades of red, yellow and orange. You continue to press forward, focusing on destroying whatever it is that is causing this. You realize that the flame is actually entering, or being absorbed the cloud. You press on. Until finally the heat begins to grow...any longer and you risk exploding the room. Tapering off your speed you watch as the flames dissipate inside the cloud. But something is noticeably off. The cloud is rolling into itself. Layering itself inwards it seems to be collapsing inwards like a collapsing star.

    Jaguar

Dropping into the hull of the ship you quickly find yourself in an empty hall...made for utility rather then style the metal walls on black flooring seems to connect to several hallways further up and down. Almost maze like in its construction. Taking a moment you focus your hearing and find little sound to guide you. The ship it seems is well insulated or perhaps you are to close to the outside to get an idea of where to go regardless you continue through the ship.

Each hallway looks like the other so walking through the ship is easy, or difficult considering you donít know where your going. Suddenly the lights start to flicker and everything goes black.

    Shock

A translucent wall forms between you and the heroes and cops, and the soldiers appearing from the large purple mist. A familiar face pops up next to you, the old woman from earlier. She doesnít say anything but she seems intrigued by the events in front of you.

Without being able to see too clearly, the size of the cloud seems to shrink, the details are unknown to you but the enemies fire seems to stop for a moment, before a barrage of fire is once again splayed out. This time however the barrier protects you all.

The heroes and cops take a moment, unsure if your wall will hold. However it is strong and they quickly realize this.

    ĒHow long will that hold?Ē

A voice from behind asks, a strong Spanish accent in his voice...strange...you donít remember any of the others being able to speak English.

Technically your still in initiative, however enemies and allies at this moment canít or donít want to do anything.

He had to admit that while it was impressive what she was doing, he simply hoped that it would prove to be effective.

Maria looked at the man. " No explosives...but...I could provide heat. Do you think that might work?"
She hated what might follow...it always made her entire body tingle with a thousand pinpricks later...

She was no scientist and when her powers first manifested, the resulting explanations had gone a little over her head, though she was by no means simple herself. But Maria knew that her powers were not just about her body moving faster - she was actually somehow agitating her own molecules, charging them with energy until they created a field that pushed the air - and apparently a part of the laws of physics - out of the way.

Later, she had found that, if she concentrated, she could not just supercharge herself but her surroundings as well...with destructive results. After all, movement translates to heat...

It was something she rarely, if ever, did, mostly because it was a aspect of her power that could only be used for destructive purposes...and it felt, to be blunt, awful.

But, the situation being what it was...

    " Alright",
she said, closing her eyes and concentrating, " here goes nothing...." Reaching forward, towards the smoke, she began to vibrate the air molecules in front of her, faster and faster until the atomic bonds began to disintegrate with a flash of intense heat!

As I said...using a HP to stunt a Cone-Area damage 11 effect with the heat descriptor off her speed and quickness.

Samantha flew down toward the battle and raised her hands. A blue, glowing wall of force appeared in front of the invaders, blocking their fire. More magic increased her voice to be heard over the battle. "Stay in cover and keep them contained. I'm going to try to close the portal."

Using Create 10 to put a wall between allies and enemies. Minor Magic to make voice loud.

    Jaguar

Kara clung to the side of the airship, amazed that she actually made the leap and eternally grateful her claws were holding. After pulling herself up the side of the vessel, she stood upon the top and looked around. She wasn't quite sure what she was expecting. There were no visible signs of entrance and no little green men waiting to zap her with laser beams. Kara noticed what looked like a ladder sticking up. When she approached, a hatch of some sort opened with a whoosh. She crouched, ready to spring into attack if anyone or anything came out, ears keenly listening for anyone approaching or climbing.

OOC: If nothing comes out within the round or if Jaguar does not hear anyone coming up the ladder, she will leap down.

What could they do, against an unknown and formless enemy? There wasn't anything they could hit physically, at least not immediately apparent. Attrition doesn't seem to be an option either as Snow felt himself liable to give out long long before whatever it was gave up on it's efforts. Suppose there was always the tried and true method famous in countless alien invasion movies.

"Have any... explosives?" The man asked, the corner of his lip upturning as if this was all a big joke. "If you... do, I can... contain the blast. Might solve it... Might not. Better then... nothing, right?"

Apparently she had somehow screwed up. But she could beat herself up for that later. Now, she asked," Okay, sorry about that...can I help?"
As she waited for a response, her eyes darted about the room, trying to find something to keep the smoke or whatever it was contained...

This was supposed to be his off day, though as per usual he spent it doing paper work instead of relaxing and enjoying himself like a normal human being. Some would see it as being unhealthy, sure signs of someone too obsessed with their career to focus on the world around him. In Snow's eyes however, pushing pencils around was a fantastic breather compared to his normal daily grind. Most of which involved something - or more often someone - being actually ground down in some form or fashion. Which is why he was fairly annoyed that when he was just about to raid the filing department at this station for some barely known criminal, there was a suddenly explosion of strange purple mist.

He didn't have a damn clue about what it was. Not his department, if this was a phenomena known by his organization. With the span of time he was forced to strain himself and keep it contained, he was at least given plenty of time to theorize. After dismissing the most far fetched ideas, he had it narrowed down to a small handful. The mist was either; an undocumented meta-criminal with an oddly powerful mist form, some form of experimental weapon, or the last and his personal favorite, some invading alien force. Very broad definition he admits, but he wasn't confident enough to narrow it down any further then that.

Whatever it was in the end was proving to be both powerful and highly volatile. His normal projection just didn't do the trick and kept getting shredded like tissue paper, leading to him throwing more and more of himself into creating something that was capable of holding it back using a technique he had very little actual practice with. Mostly because while powerful and effective, it was always such a pain to maintain. Usually it was pain in the figurative sense, since it really did requite his full concentration to keep such a barrier active. Today though, that figurative pain became more literal then he was at all comfortable with.

It wasn't that he was new to the concept of such feelings, working as what essentially was an officially sponsored bounty hunter for the government gave him plenty of experience. Yet to feel it to such a degree, where his body ached and screamed at him to let go, sweat pouring down his back in waves, a migraine the size of Texas pounding the insides of his skull, his stomach churning and yearning for a chance to spill it's contents only kept down through sheer force of will. Using his powers like this hurt in ways that the odynokinetic Anguish he brought down three years ago was never able to achieve.

For once he didn't have the familiar burn in his lungs to focus on, the familiar carton in his shorts now weighing him down instead of lifting him up. It felt like hours since he's had one, and it very well could've been. With only his countless reflections to focus upon, there wasn't exactly a way for him to keep track of time. Even the barest glimpse down at his wristwatch could cause a cascade and shatter the entire mirror into a trillion glimmering shards. Lucky for him, it seems someone else decided to take the initiative for him.

As a whole the dome shuddered the moment it felt someone trying to break their way inside, the abstract form of solidified energy fully intent on reflecting that force right back onto the intruder. Whoever they were though, the strength they exerted far out-shown what Snow was capable of mustering up at this time. Shards of pseudo-glass sprayed fourth in an arc, making way for the hero Justicia, a familiar figure to anyone in this city let alone a government agent who specifically dealt with dangerous metahumans. Not a second was given as she turned to him on a dime, soiling the feint idea of her being just the heroine he needed to get him out of this mess with an accusation.

Certainly rude, yet also reasonable given the circumstances he found himself in. "Physically... impossible... even on my... best days, hero." His voice slurred, strained even further by the physical exertion. "The answer.. to everything, is..." With a pause, Snow shook his head and gave his best shrug. "Not a clue. But nothing good."

Straining his muscles, he tried to repair the damage before the odd, suspiciously mobile and intelligent fog dove toward the superhero-shaped crack.

Maria stops to take in the situation in less than a heartbeat's time, then turns to the man. " Are you responsible? What is going on here? What is the purple mist? Speak fast!"
