  • School of Character Re-Creation

I was wondering if there was a thread to show new GMs how to recreate characters from the comics. I know there are writeups, I would really like for someone to do an in depth example of how they modeled a particular hero or villain from comics or other rpg. I realize that some writeups have notes on why they were done that way, but I still have questions. For instance, how do you determine what level the fighting stat should be vs the skill level in hand to hand?

It is highly unlikely there is a formula for this. I usually read the wiki pages for the hero/villain and just decide how to interpret it in an ad hoc fashion.

Basically, by assembling a lot of data about who outranks who. An example of this kind of project in large scale is writeups.org. Other sources of data, of varying trustworthiness, include versions of characters published in previous RPS, knowing who beat who, and things like trading cards.

While it is art as much as science, check out Jab's thread on the other boards at http://www.echoesofthemultiverse.com...c.php?p=60#p60

The reason that it is more of an art, of course, is because there is no right or wrong answers. There are only interpretations.

Well, I would say there are multiple right answers. There might be some wrong answers.
