Re: (OOC) - The Path of Dragons we go

Alright, gonna go ahead and roll resources, house age, and amount of house events now.

    Defense: 20(+20 from Dragonstone) = 40
    Influence: 25(-5 from Dragonstone) = 20
Lands: 18(-5 from Dragonstone, but, house rule will be in affect, so-) = 15
    Law: 17(+5 from Dragonstone) = 22
    Population: 26 = 26
    Power: 21 = 21
    Wealth: 21(-5 from Dragonstone) = 16

    House age: New

    House events: 3

Alright, so, squadfather40, why don't you roll the first event?

            So-

            Defense: 20(+20 from Dragonstone)(+4 from Glory Event) = 44
            Influence: 25(-5 from Dragonstone)(+5 from Glory Event) = 25
Lands: 18(-5 from Dragonstone, but, house rule will be in affect, so-) = 15
            Law: 17(+5 from Dragonstone)(+3 from Glory Event) = 25
            Population: 26 = 26
            Power: 21(+6 from Glory Event) = 27
            Wealth: 21(-5 from Dragonstone) = 16

So, Tyrondir, why don't you roll up the next Historical event?

              Roll for House event
              3d6: 11 [3d6=4, 3, 4]
              http://orokos.com/roll/407993

              Seem that we have Infrastructure!
Not bad, as our House is new and this is our second event, maybe during the Greyjoy rebellion we held some administrative office in behalf of Lord Stannis, and then I choose to increase our Wealth and Influence.

              Wealth: 1d6: 5 [1d6=5]

              Influence: 1d6: 3 [1d6=3]

Doc Mysterious, why don't you roll for the third event?

                  House History Roll #3-
                  3d6: 15 [3d6=6, 3, 6].

Villain: Your family produced a character of unspeakable cruelty and wickedness, a villain whose name is still whispered with dread. Such a character might have committed terrible crimes in his home, killed guests under his roof, or was simply just a bad person. A villain as a first roll usually wins this position by dint of his evil, possibly murdering a rival and seizing his lands or birthright.

                  Influence-
                  (+)1d6: 2 [1d6=2]

                  Law-
                  (-)1d6: 2 [1d6=2]

                  Population-
                  (-)1d6: 4 [1d6=4]

                  Power-
                  (+)1d6: 3 [1d6=3]

Alright, so, maybe your father is a bastard of the Mad King himself, who a couple of years before the Usurper's rebellion, earned his first holdings from a great deed he had done in service to the main Targaryen house. Then, maybe like Tyrondir said, he held an administrative office during the rebellion of the Greyjoys, and gained Wealth and influence for his family. However...Maybe shortly after the failed Blackwater siege, something in the Lord father snapped. Not a full snap like Aerys, but, the failure of his Liege Lord's forces shook him up so much, that he started condemning almost every sorry criminal in his lands to the death penalty. This period of time has left the Targaryen descended Lord a darker man. And, yet even though his actions have had reprocussions in your house's population and law, he still managed to make the house stronger, even if the Lord as you know him isn't what he used to be...

Looks like we are off to a solid start. Good rolls and a great start to the house history. What's the next thing you need from us?

If there is still room for another player, I'd be interested to join as well. I'd likely create a schemer / figher hybrid (maybe an experienced knight who can also handle diplomatic missions).
He would probably stay behind to deal with the problems at home, while the expedition travels east.

Hey, Owlhunter, welcome to the game.

So, why don't you guys just go ahead and come up with your house's name, sigil and words together? Maybe the sigil could include a salamander-Those do have a decent association with dragons, right?-and, the house words can be something like 'Our Blood burns hot', like as a reminder of who they're descended from.

And, then, figure out what kind of holdings you each think would be good for the house.

It looks like we have our group of 5....nicely done!

I like the motto "Our blood burns bright". As far as sigil....it'd be a given that we are secretly supporting the return of the Targaryens. So I'd say any animal that would be similar to a dragon yet easy enough to argue that it's not.

I do have a couple of questions though.

What is our maximum status for character creation?

Does anyone want to play the heir? Im considering the possibility, but willing to let someone else play it if they want.

I understand that our holdings are on an island, but not Dragonstone itself, correct?

How about a small island north of Dragenstone close to the coast of Crackclaw Point? That way, we have a reasonable basis to deal with the various houses of mainlands and surrounding islands (Celtigar and Velaryon etc.)

If that is indeed correct, I like your idea. Then, as an idea for Land holdings, we could have

                                Hills (+7)
                                -Coast (+3)
                                -Dense Woods (+5)

And having access to a coastline allows use to get a Port for our Wealth holdings.

                                -Port (+10)
-Maester (+10) (necessary from RAW for my character)

That would leave 10 more Wealth to reserve.

I also like the idea of a Castle for defense, but maybe we would want to have more defensive structures, in which case we would have to shift my Land holdings idea around.
