View Full Version : Dragon Age Podcast: Some Guys And A Filthy Mage

Hi Guys,

My friends and I have recently started a new Dragon Age campaign and we thought that it would be fun to record the sessions and release them as a podcast.

The game will have a serious plot but very often the dialogue breaks down to a bit of silliness (pretty much like any RP group I know of).

Anyway, if you want to give us a listen you can do so at:-

If you do, please let us know what you think.

Hi guys

After a short break Episode 6 is now uploaded.

This is a big episode, both in coming it at about 3hrs and 40min and for the party.

They uncover some dramatic stuff and have to make some tough choices.

It was a pleasure to GM, I hope it's a pleasure to listen to.

I just listened to portions of the first session. Certainly,I think we all forget just how much giggling there is when gaming;)

It's interesting - I wonder if it would have advanced the plot to have the PCs start the game in lodgings in Amaranthine, with a patron already set-up? They could be discussing the pirate attack over an ale, right at the beginning. Over the decades as a GM, I increasingly find I like to leap into the plot straight away after a little scene setting and roleplay to establish character personalities.
You're brave to have six players - I find five the ideal number. Interesting too to have an Avarr and a Qunari PC - two alien cultures (the former particularly after DA: Inquisition, becoming giant, painted Picts). Did either of those players have any knowledge of the game world in advance? I think I'd tend to have the "ignorant" players (in terms of knowledge of Thedas) as Ferelden Humans, Surface Dwarves or City Elves, as they are easier to depict.
Are there any points within the podcasts where the PCs discuss a true moral quandary, in true Dragon Age style? Perhaps you could point out such noteworthy moments and where they occur in the narrative - it can be hard to find the crucial bits otherwise.
Anyway, well done and keep up the good work.

Thank you

It ended up only being 5 players anyway. I personally prefer 4-5 players.

The pirate attack was primarily to introduce the players to the AGE system as none of them had used it before. (A tutorial level if you will)

There have been several moral choices to be made during the campaign.
I think the most significant was in the latest episode.

The player who was going to play the Qunari was very familiar with the DA setting.
Whereas the Avvar when starting the campaign only had the info I had given him or directed him to.

Thanks for listening
