View Full Version : Pathfinder book contents

I'm curious how much of the material in the new book is Pathfinder-specific, and how much is general purpose. If I already have the Pirates' Guide, is there enough content in the new book to justify picking it up, assuming I'm using a system that's NOT Pathfinder?

That's a good question. At a rough estimate, the first 350 pages cover the city with an overview, a history and descriptions of neighborhood locations and characters. Stats and things are included, woven in with the description. Then there are about 130 pages of really PF-specific content. Finally comes the new sixty-page adventure, "The Ironjack Legacy."

That seems like a pretty good ratio. If only about 1/4 of the book is hardcore Pathfinder material (races, classes, feats, and so on) then it's probably still worth picking up. I don't have an issue with converting inline statblocks, I was more worried that a huge chunk of the material would be basically unusable without a massive conversion effort.
